Pakistan have signed the agreement of 50 locomotive engines with china 10 engines will soon arrived and rest will come by next year. if any one have news link kindly share here.

On February 4, CSR Ziyang Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock (China CSR Corp.) (1766: HKG; 601766: SHA), reached an agreement with Pakistan to sell 50 locomotives to the country. As a result, the company has exported their locomotive products to 23 countries, improving China CSR Corp.'s international market influence.
Based on the purchase contract, CSR Ziyang needs to deliver the first batch of ten locomotives to Pakistan at the end of 2013 and to deliver the remainder in May 2014.

No Buddy u heard it wrong The metro trains UNITS that we brought from China r cheap but will contain LOCAL PARTS thanks to Reliance Cheap chinese giri its taking long time for induction Hope fully with local expertise n parts we should avoid the Already delayed project.......BY the way congrats with ur chinese Ching-choo Trains......Hope they run from Lahore 2 Karachi n not into Arabian sea........

The old locos are lying in the scrap yard. The Pakistani Railways was blaming the Chinese quality but I think it was poor maintenance/ spare parts were stolen.
Understand that a very large part of PR is closed down due to want of locos and coaches.

But for that they have to run for at least some distance. Last reports stated that they are lying cannibalised in yards, so no use for anybody.

Agreed Maintenance and corruption was the reason nothing else

wait a few more months when the next govt will sell out PR to private firm.and under strick control it will be different within 2 years

you all are giving ideas to RAW and schmey Yindoos.... they are capable of stealing the whole engine. Waht to say of parts ? Kabaries (scrap dealers) are active all over pakistan..

Ha Ha Ha ... we will steal the engines and take parts to China as scrap ...

we know this already..anyway risalpur locomotive factory as said by Asad umar under them will manufacture loco's with TOT and related help from china.to form a manufacturing base

Is there a Coach factory in Pakistan or are they being imported.

Both India and Pakistan have continued to have broad gauge which is pretty rare as most of the countries have opted for Std. Gauge. To persist with this you need to have your own domestic manufacturing base otherwise it will be very expensive to keep on importing.
