China is rushing to step into the void.

China apparently is taking a proactive stance against the US by stating that the US should compensate and apologise.

While China is keen to 'take the China Pakistan relations to a new high', it will be worth observing what exactly would comprise of the 'new highs' that China is to implement in Pakistan.

The Pakistan State is kept buoyant with US aid in money and arms. China, given her national agenda, slowing down of economy wherein attempting to increase domestic demands, will hardly be able to bankroll Pakistan in the manner of the US or open up imports from Pakistan when it wants to increase its own domestic demands.

Notwithstanding, it will be interesting to see China getting embroiled in Pakistan.

This was bound to happen. China doesn't want US to block its highway of transporting goods (Pakistan). So naturally some maintenance of the highway is needed.

Dai also said the world should not abandon Pakistan right now and also announced a setting up of economic zone in Xinjiang with duty free access for Pakistan.

Just a few days ago I said in another thread about redrawing Pak Map that the window to do it is small as china will step in to make sure Pak as an entity remains. Right now China may not be able to on its own, but we don't know the future.

US and India should sit together and evolve a strategy now to break up Pakistan.

Good that he is setting up a duty free access in Xinjiang for Pakistan.

It will be a good cover for the fundamentalists of Pakistan to act as traders and then trade in terrorism!

Why is it in the US interest to allow India to redraw the map? What drives the US to undo the 'low equilibrium' on the Subcontinent?

No superpower or superpower in the making country would like India to rise for the simple reason it will not be in their interest to have another country vying for their space as world leaders!

US would certainly be happy to secure access to Central Asia energy resources through a state dependent on US (Baluchistan) rather the present Pakistan which is showing eyes to her. Independence of Baluchistan would also block the Iranian supply to China which is in US interests. It would further weaken Chinese intentions of developing Gwadar as Naval base threatening US interests in Indian oceans.

It is not only India which need a detractor but Pakistan also needs a detractor from the West and North to achieve a correct balance in South Asia. Redrawing Pakistan's map helps the US most rather than India.

For India, capturing the Southern Silk route through Pakistan in POK or in Punjab is militarily possible any time. Even if Baluchistan is there with Pakistan, it does not matter. Interdiction of Chinese supply line is within Indian capabilities.

Not US issues but, rather seeing government in turmoil rushes envoy to check everything is in order..

They have paid some politicians and have invested heavily, to please the all weather guys and was worried whether the nation will go into, turmoil, so send Mr.
    Dai Bingguo.

The guy must have then met Mr gilani and
Zardari and must have told them "we give u best price, be a man..."...then some photo-sessions, some statements like "higher than mountain , deeper than hole, smelly than "you know what" etc.. etc... and back to mainland.

Sir the thread on India-Japan-US trilateral talks indicates that US thinks it can spend less money if India rises.
