Yeah. I believe even then it was purposely left unguarded to lure pakis because the "Army Headquarters insists that freak white-out conditions caused by rain and fog in late July allowed Pakistan soldiers to occupy the position. However, it is unclear how they were able to do so in such conditions."
If they wanted to plan it like that, better idea would have been to hide radio transmitter in the bunkers when they are left unguarded and fire missiles which home in on these radio frequency and take out bunker.

Some news channels are showing the news in this regard and saying that an operation is carried on against that by the IA.

No I think that would be a give away. Also, these bunkers would be sanitized by pakis in the first step.

In my above post, I want to highlight that it was just a matter of logic as far as the Loond incident is concerned. The same conditions were faced by both IA and PA. And IA is better equiped AFAIK. So, unless IA wants PA to try and occupy why would it give lee way?

So, I think it is safe to assume that IA purposely lured PA so that they can be chased out or for that matter to test war fighting capabilities and maintain war readiness at all times.

Also, what better way to conduct war games than giving our boys live targets??? ;)

All defence experts, your opinion would be invaluable.

Govt. kept quiet so Paki talks would not be derailed......idiots!!!
I think they are looking at 2014 when uncle exit afgh and all the terror traffic will be diverted to J&K. ISI and PA will do that, so at least we can pressurize GOP to some how stop that. GOP cant do much even if they want to do it. Still we have to do something post 2014.

Indian Army recovering Pakisthani SF bodies near Shala Bhata.

"There's no confirmation yet about who the infiltrators are", the Delhi-based military spokesperson said, "but some of the bodies we've recovered are wearing uniforms, which is suggestive. More important, the tactics and disciplined use of firepower by the infiltrators show they are likely special forces personnel, not just infiltrators."
In latest updates, IBN7"²s Khalid Husain has reported that Army sources said there is face to face firing going on as after the infiltration into Indian posts which were unmonitored for week. In addition, IBN7 is reporting that heavy machine gun fire has broken out in the area. The posts were allegedly captured by men wearing Pakistan army uniform. XV corps commander Lieutenant-General Gurmeet Singh has said no village had been captured, but conceded some terrorists might be hiding out in it. He also said that an infiltration attempt had been repulsed, but went on to state a large area on the Indian side of the Line of Control was cordoned off, and fighting was underway.

MMS buffoon and Cong have to go. IA should have used Helina , Nag etc and wiped the empty posts off the map. Even if chem weapons were used pakis couldn't publicly admit it.

IA has their own air assets in that area and they can use it.

In my understanding IA alwyas shows restraint to ask IAF to get involved for some unknown reasons.

Using chemical weapons will be the right way of controlling these pests. But you neeed a good propaganda mechinery afterwards. The kind of compromised media full of traitors and head less chicken in our Parliament we have such actions will fire back at us.

Not to mention how loud mouth muslims 'merasee' of Pakistan will come out on streets beating their chests and bringing dead bodies of their children (even those who might not have been killed by CW) out on streets to bluff rest of the world. You can not win in propaganda with these payjama chaps with such disfunctional state of media which is there only to serve political masters or anyone who can feed them with money.

IBN7 showing this news that 50 or so "Infiltrator" have dug up in the village and 12 are killed. These "Infiltrator" have enough ammo to face IA for a month. The IA operation is going on for 9 days and news is saying that these are perhaps Pak Army regulars.

Seems like Pakis are looking for another tight slap right on it's shameless face.

What a coward shameless Un-Islamic failed state called Pakistan . They like getting thrashed by IA so much.

Pak special forces' echo in 9-day battle

Srinagar, Oct. 2: The army today said it was facing a different kind of infiltration on the Line of Control in which special troops from Pakistan could be involved but brushed aside as "absurd" reports that the transgressors had taken over territory.

The force's Valley chief, who denied the reports, however ended up sharing details that indicated an explosive situation could be building up in Keran, Kupwara, where the army said it has been locked in an encounter with the infiltrators for the past nine days.

It means the firefight, which has left six army jawans injured, was on even as Prime Ministers Manmohan Singh and Nawaz Sharif met in New York where they decided to ask their directors general of military operations to restore a tenuous ceasefire.

"After analysing the methodology, I can only say this is not a pure infiltration. This is BAT (Border Action Team) action-cum-infiltration. The number of militants who tried to infiltrate was rather large. This is quite different from the attempts we have seen," Lt Gen. Gurmeet Singh, GOC of the Kashmir-based 15 Corps, told a media conference today.

"The strength and the intentions indicate that definitely there were some special troops. They are very well trained."

BAT is believed to comprise special Pakistani troops and militants from different organisations, including the Lashkar.

Asked if these special troops were Pakistani regulars, Singh said: "It will be premature for me to comment on this in specific terms."

Singh denied reports that Pakistani troops and militants had occupied a village, Shalla Bhat, and some army posts on the LoC in Keran. "I reiterate this operation is under our control"¦. No village in this area is out of cordon"¦. My troops are in control of that area"¦. Any violation of territorial integrity and infiltration will never be accepted by us," Singh said in Srinagar.

A newspaper published from Srinagar, the Rising Kashmir, reported that Pakistani troops and/or irregulars had occupied three posts vacated by the Indian Army during handover of responsibilities from one battalion to another on September 23. The army has termed the report of loss of territory "absurd".

"Some inimical elements"¦ have been giving this input of black propaganda," Singh said.

The location of the village is disputed. While Pakistan claims it is well within its area, the Indian posts are cheek by jowl with the village.

The village itself had been abandoned some 20 years back because of frequent exchanges of fire and, according to an officer, was in an "informal" no-man's land.

Singh's media conference came a day after Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire on the LoC in the Poonch sector of Jammu, triggering an hour-long exchange of fire. But it is in Kupwara where the ongoing operation against a group of 30 to 40 armed men is emerging as a big concern for the army.

The army claims to have killed around 12 of these infiltrators but it is not clear if the slain militants were part of the 30-40-strong group. Their bodies have not been retrieved either, though the officer said retrieving their bodies was of "no consequence" to him.

The officer also spoke of a "riddle" his men encountered when a fresh group of 10-12 militants from across the border "cropped up yesterday night within the cordon".

""¦This area is very rugged. There are a lot of crevices and small caves"¦. We are looking where these people cropped up yesterday night within the cordon. We will solve this riddle for you," he said.

Army sources in Delhi confirmed that a major counter-infiltration operation was still on after Indian troops found evidence of movement of about 30 suspected militants.

The army says there have been more than 150 ceasefire violations this year but is not sure if all the firing was by the Pakistan Army or by suspected militants trying to enter Kashmir.

The army believes Pakistani troops have been giving firing support to the militants.

The DGMOs, who have been asked to ensure the ceasefire holds, are likely to meet later this month.

they have all come to die here and we will send them to other world, where they will get their very old 72 virgins.

We should punish Pakistanis by taking out 5-10 of their post with guided bombs. Just to send clear and loud massage.

Re: Pak troops occupied Indian village even as PM talked peace with Pa

We have to teach pakistan a lesson by taking away Kashmir now.....
How dare you say such a communal thing!?

Attacking Pakistan means that entire ruling government, AAP and other such people will go to UN to protest Indian Army's actions against innocent secular Pakistanis.

Any government other than Congress-I would have deal with this aggression of PA both militarily and diplomatically.

S. Manmohan Singh is mum on this for obvious reasons.
