Russia empowered India for last 70 years..sold its best and most advanced weapons..stood with India in worst of times ..when other powers were helping Pakistan to train and sneak terrorists inside India' Panjab and Jammu-Kashmir. Relationships are static and countries change depending on elected government, public mood and demographic changes. USA has been evil in the past from India's lens and Russia was a good friend back then. In today's world it may no longer be the case, however it is not realistic or practical for India to simply shut one door and open another. She needs to work on building more and more indigenous technology so that one day India is a net producer rather than a consumer. Looks like the current government is working very hard to put India on that track.
