From the looks of it mate, it seems that the Insas rifle has been modified with an Israeli Cornershot system. Check the LCD and the swiveled barrel of the gun.

it appear that IA has modified its INSAS to act as some thing like corner short gun, here is comparisonwith original INSAS

Is the barrel pivotable though? I frankly can't tell a horizontal hinge from this angle.

What seems to have been done is that a charge-coupled device camera (zeroed) was rigged to the assault rifle and the image piped via flexible borescope or fibrescope to an HuD as a sort of 'alternative' to the cornershot- minus the recoil.

it is not the case, even if that is the case neither the insas nor the solider is within the focus of the camera.

now look closely and you will find this is modified version, or some one has played with the image.

This doesn't seems to be an fake image to me at all. Look closely , the butt shown which has the LCD fixed to it is actually the folding butt of an INSAS. My view is that, what they have done is a simple Indian version of the Cornershot system where instead of the barrel of the gun swiveling towards the target, the whole gun can be swiveled and the view can be transferred by the camera to LCD fixed on the butt, again giving a view of what's just round the corner to a army trooper without exposing himself to hostile fire.

This is a same INSAS Rifle with an LCD display and installed front camera and folded body......In my opinion it will not perform as same as cornershot system.

Obviously, its not exactly the same as the Cornershot systems, but nevertheless it still is a good try....

'Patent' is one word to describe, why it is not like corner shot................. India respect intellectual property rights, unlike some other countries.

Actually is not that difficult to copy corner shot......we can do that within very short time............

Why do the INSAS rifles use wooden stocks.

Isnt light-weight plastic much stronger and lighter.
It looks like an old fashioned assault rifle.

Its not a Corner Shot, as in the case of corner shot the trigger would be in the second half not the first because if you keep the trigger in first half then why have a corner shot rifle at all. The whole purpose is to fire a shot and not exposing ur hands or body, but according to the picture the trigger is in the first half which would make this weapon ridiculous!

A Corner Shot would look something like below:

Of course its not a Cornershot man, there's a thing called 'patent' as Sayareakd put it ! But still at least exposing your hand is still better than exposing your whole body....
