For those not well aware of Israel's internal situation: The last elections were extremely close, and the ruling far-right coalition is extremely unstable, only bearing majority of one seat. Most political pundits are of the view that the current regime will not last more than a matter of months, especially due to a controversial bill trying to term Israel as an exclusively "Jewish" state. There is significant international pressure on Netanyahu, due to his comments deriding Arab citizens for voting, and his public remarks grinding the cause of the Palestinian peace process to a halt. This has also resulted in significant internal pressure on Netanyahu. As a result, Modi should try and focus on country-to-country ties, and spend less time trying to cultivate a friendship with the polarizing, controversial PM of a coalition bound to collapse soon.
