@Bornubus window of MMG post are't very small , why it so ?? and what if pak army decide to charge bypassing the post ???
That's to avoid getting hit by artillery shrapnel and direct enemy fire.

Regarding your second question. When the attacker is to capture a post or a defended locality, he will first try and neutralise the defender's area with artillery and other flat trajectory weapons too like MMGs and rocket launchers until the attacking infantry closes in. The artillery fire stops at a safe distance or approx 100m to 200m from the bunkers depending on the type of artillery being used for support.

The defenders at this stage will not be then confined to their bunkers only. Apart from the crew served weapons like MMGs which will continue firing on their 'fixed lines' supporting the neighboring bunkers/posts (They will not be firing straight ahead now) the other infantry soldiers will go into their open firing bays in the communication trenches and take on the enemy from there. Artillery fire of the attackers would have lifted much earlier and thus there would be no danger from these guns.

Here's an example of a firing bay as part of an open communication trench.....

And this is 'mutual Support' by LMGs/MMGs to neighboring localities during enemy assault......

As can be seen above, during the enemy assault, the LMG/MMG crew will be firing their weapons not straight ahead but in front of their neighboring localities. This is called mutual support. If you fire straight ahead you will kill only one person but firing from a flank can kill several at a time.

Fully equipped Paki soldiers compared with Indians and their Tin Buckets. And this is the most sensitive area of deployment.
Why are our soldiers posing with Napaakis on the occasion of Pakistan resolution day? The day to commemorate the occasion when the Napaaki Djinaah, called for splitting the motherland.

Politicos are shameless, why these men in uniform?

Because Indians were the first to exchange sweet on 26 January both on int border and on LoC

To the same troops who beheaded your own, took their head and play football with it, not once but several times. The last being the 2 beheading in 2016 few months back before sweet exchange.

26th Jan is completely different from 23rd March.

Jan 26th is the day of the founding of Indian Republic. The day was carefully chosen because it was on this day in 1930 that the Indian National Congress proclaimed their intentions for Poorna Swaraaj (Complete independence). Complete independence for all of India, not India minus Pakistan.

In contrast Pakistan day on March 23 is to commemorate the Lahore resolution passed on March 23, 1940, which called for establishment of a Muslim state in Northwest and Eastern parts of India with Muslim majority. In other words, celebration of an event that called for vibhajan of mother India, severing of our lands to favour a feudal, Islamofascist elite.

I find it hard to believe that officers and jawaans in the army are unaware of the significance of Pakistan Day and that congratulating/participating in such events is akin to appreciate the Lahore resolution of 1940.

Many of our politicos are shameless, ignorant or a combination of the two. But I expected better from our men in uniform.

Once IA crossed border in early 2000's to avenge death of soldier...................
It was posted by @reddevil9 as well on the forum somewhere
I believe that you are referring to the cross LoC Raid on Paki "Akbar" Post manned by 24 Baloch Regt. (Approx platoon size strength )

Lt Sami UL Haq was captured alive and brought back to our side along with several troops (allegedly) Later 5 dead bodies along with the body of that young Lt was returned to Pakistan.

He had a big fat hole on his head, execution style. The fate of other soldiers is unknown but Pakis do complain of 12 beheadings since 2000.

It is believed that Musharraf downplayed the incident as he had recently usurped the power.

Pak Army Madarpur sector LoC (Poonch)

Crisp and Juicy Target for our Arty and possibly Air strike when Push comes to shove.

Are the hills and mountains in this area naturally devoid of trees, or have they been chopped down for better visibility?

I am surprised Pakis have not made efforts to hide their posts better and to shield them.

Little bit down the apartments there are few houses..looks like posts.
And i guess they will have underground bunkers to protect from our artillery.

This is not "luxury apartments" that's was just a pun. These are Paki Army posts. Generally speaking thick foliage around the posts has merits and demerits and it also depends on the gradient of the slope.

While on LoC Post thick vegetation is good to mask the movement but on the Int Border in Punjab and Jammu Sarkanda (elephant grass) is used by Pak Rangers to infiltrate terrorist and even to dig Tunnels

Pakistan violates ceasefire in Rajouri, third incident of unprovoked firing in 24 hours

"There was unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army in Bhimbher Gali sector of Rajouri district from 1100 hours today, using 82 mm mortars, automatic weapons," a defence spokesman said.

Indian Army personnel took positions and responded befittingly to the Pakistani firing, the spokesman said, adding that intermittent firing was going on.

There is no casualty on Indian side, he said.

Yesterday, Pakistani troops had resorted to firing and shelling of mortar bombs on forward posts in Balakote sector of Rajouri district from 1100 hours and it continued for some hours.

The Pakistani army had also initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatic and mortar shells from 0930 hours yesterday on Indian Army posts along the LoC in Digwar area in Poonch sector.

In the same area, a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), Naib Subedar S Sanayaima Som, was killed in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast on April 1.
