The engine is still not very reliable, it seems to be in limited series production on the J-11. Most of them seem to be like experiments.

WS-10 is not powerful enough for a third generation plane forget fifth generation. The engine in the pictures is probably a Russian engine.

I think the problem with the engine is reliability, efficiency and weight. I think it produces the required thrust of 130kN but it probably consumes more fuel and fails more often because of poor metallurgy.

WS-10 has a long history of engine fires which would make less stealthy than a 60 year old war plane.This is probably an AL-31 engine??

The engine with the Silver nozzle is probably the AL-31F compared to the AL-31FP which has a black nozzle.
