There is no such things as friends when it comes to nations, one has to understand every country has to work with their own interest too. If USA does not want them to provide AESA technology, because they want to put pressure on India, so what's the problem with that?

As long as we are gaining from them, minor issues are OK. Grow up buddy. Also same problem exists with Russia and France or you are living in wonderland.

why didn 't we negotiate this before the huge airbus deal that was announced today??
That Airbus deal is private affair. Also IndiGo is known of keeping good relations with Airbus since quite long time now.

What DRDO had it with its global invitation for AESA co-operation is blown if the reported news is strong on its grounds. I was pretty much surprised when Indians dropped Thales & even Selex, while as rumored directly started working with Elta. Radar processor enhancement role played by Elta is vital. Also this 2052 variant is pretty much important not just for upcoming fighters but also for some other airborne platforms.

With positivity, I assume that this trouble will be handled by GOI in coming days with cross-dealing between Israel/US. Although this involves sweet delay leading to several rounds of meetings on strategic & technical fronts.

To be very frank except Elta, any other developer for advanced electronic radar is pretty much on their planned path with estimated product goal in mind. Partnering with any of them will bring compromises for future platforms of Indian forces.

Only better move now would be to find way in than taking any other over-ambitious decision.

not long ago i was arguing with some people here that israel doesn't help us out of the kindness of there hearts. they would even give to our bitter enemy if it suited them.

we should become self reliant rather than scavenging for different parts.

and we already recognize palestine so that ploy is useless.

We all seen how fast Israel is willing to sell out India to China. Lavi, Harpy, Phalcon AWACs... whatever China wants until USA tells them to cut it out. What kind of ally that is going to deny India AESA technology can be reliable? France has no problem sharing AESA technology or even AIP submarines. That is not a friend... but reliable partner.

France is also the same country that has sold Pakistan Mirage fighter jets, Agosta submarines, Crotale SAMs, etc. etc.

France is definitely an important partner and friend, but we not delude ourselves into thinking our relationship is exclusive. Business will always mean business.

But France doesn't sell to China. Who is the bigger threat to India? Little failed state or monster dragon?

Not because it doesn't want to, but because EU has imposed sanctions against export of military wares to China. If that goes, I am pretty sure France would be more than willing to sell to China.

Armand isn't France leading the consensus that weapons export band to be lifted on China?

Rumors:
France is selling productions related to military to China, actually breaks the sanction.
France tested a nuclear bomb in a Chinese nuclear test site in 1998.

If the rumors are true, China and France are friends, although many people hate each other since March 2008.

China has to meet the three criteria before it can be considered for a vote, and then all 27 members have to approve it. China fails to meet human rights criteria over and over again which is why it always gets quashed by France and others. It depends on the flavour of the day who pushes it to make China feel better about an upcoming deal. It won't be dropped until things change.

Well so it is simple, if you get a chance you will sell it :). But I agree to one statement to a large extent that only good friends of India is Russia and France. We should not forget our space scientists were trained in Soviet union and France from where our dream journey got a boost.

Most of the IIT were built with the help of USSR. Russia would only sell weapons to Pak only after consultations from India, may be or except the JF-17 engine...

Not necessarily, we refused to sell Pak the JF-17 upgrade package. It has proven that considerations of India mean something to us. US doesn't care.

wow !!!!
good going us of A.
and these guys want us as allies!!!!!
let usa prove it's credibility first
let them stop these arm twisting tactics.
untill then we are alone
and we must stand on our own feets.
this is a lesson the all us indians who consider that india has arrived.
and india is already a super power.
we have miles to go before we become one.
and yeah we can traverse these miles.

The US gives Israel "Billions" every year for it's Defense. So, when it stops taking our money. They can do whatever they want.........

If US has pressurized Israel then it's certain that they will repeat same on EuroRadar. In this scenario RBE-2 emerges as front runner. And if it is the case then it's almost certain that MICA+Meteor package will also be selected. However 'Fructification' will largely depend on flexible approach (pricing wise) by France.
