Indian city bans begging ahead of Ivanka Trump visit

I know a old beggar women who has a three room apartment in a relatively nice area but still can be seen begging near roadsides.

Beggars will go down in number as Indian Govt. recently started a highly subsidized food program for poor people
called "thali" which costs any where from Rs 2 (4 cents) to Rs5 (8 cents)

Nobody begs for food, at least not in the cities. They beg for money, make tons of it, and pay off their mafia bosses, cops, and the municipality.

Quite a few cities have heavily subsidized food, and then there's also MNREGA outside the cities. It did zilch to curb begging.

We should not ban bagging. bagging is very much a part of our culture. Our culture has given freedom to those who are engaged in some intellectual or any other great work will not worry about their feeding. Society will take care of it. How many of you know that Modi fed himself for years like this? He will go the home of any worker at lunch or dinner time. If they offer him food, he will eat else he will go back drink some water and sleep. He has live like this for many years. Keshu bhai patel's wife used to make very testy Dal for Modi which he liked very much. He often used to go to eat food of Ba's hand.

We have beggars because we can feed them unlike other people.
