Now matured and In service with law enforcement and security forces, First conceived after Mumbai terrorist attack ..

An armoured 360-degrees revolving Anti-Terrorist Vehicle’ (ATV) has been deployed in the Parliament complex for securing it against terrorist attack- like incidents.Brought out on special anti-ballistic configuration approved by DRDO, the two commandos-seater vehicle has been put on ‘trial’ at the seat of power in central Delhi to test its efficacy in combating a terrorist or suicide attack. The 4.5-tonne military camouflage vehicle, moving on tank-like tyres has a special armour plating which can resist close firing from any modern assault rifle and grenades and provides ample opportunity to armed commandos to take precise aim from the firing ports without getting hit.It also has enough space for commandos to stock their weapons and ammunition, the officials said. The vehicle can attain a maximum speed limit of 25 km per hour and is the first of its kind in the small variants of bullet-proof vehicles that are required to operate in large built up areas like Parliament, they said.

100 Tanks deployed in Ladakh -
Developed successful SOPs to keep Tanks operational in -45C
Another Brigade Facing Sikhim will be raised soon.

http://www.ndtv.com/india-news/indi...inese-threat-1432981?pfrom=home-lateststories

China in the Lanzhou Military Region, which faces Ladakh, has 220,000 PLA troops, including an armoured division and two motorised infantry divisions (a division has three brigades). The Chengdu Military Region, opposite India’s north-eastern states, has some 180,000 PLA troops, including two armoured brigades and four motorised infantry divisions. This is a very welcome development.

Correct me if I am wrong: Road/Rail Infrastructure not withstanding over time we will see a (only one?) new Mountain Brigade, Will start inducting M777 and Pinaka II MBRL artillery and are acquiring Expanded Helo Assets (Chinooks, LCH, Mi-17Vs) for the China Theater. Ringing them with MR Akash SAMs and MKI Deployment including 1 Brahmos Carrying MKI Squadron will be China Facing. The New S-400 Brigades that we are acquiring atleast 2x Units will face the Northern and North Eastern Border.

T-90 Bhishma has better chance then T-72 and BMP-2 against modern tanks ..
Much comes down to Crew Competency as well as Tech on Tank. If you look at the recent Fairings of the Saudi Abrams in the Yemen Conflict and Assads T-90s against ISISI/FSA the outcome of Tanks hit by Modern ATGMs were pretty similar in level of destruction and protection of crews.

The Bigger Take away was the advancement in ATGMs have made them far more lethal to Tanks. IMO Tank Protection tech is lagging behind ATGM tech. Only a matter of time that this gap is closed though.

Kunal Bhai any idea what PLA armor is up against out T 72 ?
Type 99s Type 96s And ZBDs.
T-72 as such is outmatched against them. The Combat Improved Ajeya and Armoured Corps superior tactics might give them an edge though.

If the IA can figure out a way to move Arjuns to the Aksai Chin, then it'll be a whole different story altogether.

The LAC warfare is all about Light Armor, neither the infrastructure nor the terrain allow heavy Mechanized deployment except Sikkim and few areas of J&K.

This is the road connect Tawang to rest of India - almost impossible for Heavy mechanized/ Kraz trucks.

That's why LAC troops are relatively better ATGM equipped.

Dogra Scouts were the 1st to get KORNET.

I don't understand.. why Army is placing T72 over there.. when T90 are available in numbers now. Any future conflicts won't last long enough and first few days of conflicts are where maximum damage should be done.

Western borders have more chance of seeing conflict so best gear is diverted over western sector ..

T-72M1 are not bad for conducting counter attacks ..

Many people in Army never saw tank in real, Lucky kids up in the mountain had chance to play on it ..

They don't want to attack entire India, just Tawang and places in J&K and Uttarakhand what they claim "illegally" occupied by India.

Last i heard PLA can reach Tawang before Indian Army.

There is always more than one way.

Consider this:---
They will only prepare a heavy defensive position on the LAC and try to draw our best troop formations on that front (with their show of light tanks and air bases). Meanwhile their real attack will be from our west through Pakistan. And then hook around to encircle our troops and force a truce on their terms.

Due to the recent developments with Chinese troops operating in POK and Pakistan, I don't think we can afford to comfortably predict the direction of a Chinese attack.
