    India urges China to postpone Xi Jinping’s visit

    Keen to cement ties with China, India has urged Beijing to postpone President Xi Jinping’s September state visit to the Capital as it is clashing with host President Pranab Mukherjee’s visit to Vietnam. The Indian President is going to Vietnam from September 15-17.

    South Block sources said as the tentative date for President Xi’s visit to India was September 14-15, Beijing has been informed through diplomatic channels that Chinese President was most welcome on September 17-18 on return from his state visits to Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

    “As per earlier plans, President Xi’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on September 15 after which he would fly to Colombo and Islamabad. But due to non-availability of the host, President Mukherjee, we have requested that President Xi fly into India on September 17 and hold summit level talks the next day,” said a senior official. Beijing reply is still awaited.

    The Narendra Modi government is keen to deepen ties particularly in the economic and infrastructure sector and has noted that President Xi sent his special representative Wang Yi to meet the PM as soon as he was sworn in. China has also hosted Indian President, vice president and new commerce minister Nirmala Sitharaman this year.

    “Our aim is to keep borders quiet with both countries increasing bilateral trade and Beijing reducing huge trade deficit through investment in Indian manufacturing sector,” said a South Block official.

    Apart from being the host, the other reason why India wants President Mukherjee to be present is that it does not want to send any adverse message to Beijing particularly when PM Modi is travelling to Japan on September 1-3, hosting Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot in India on September 4-5 and then travelling to US in the last week of September.

    All the names that are mentioned seem to be nostalgic. Are they done on purpose - is it diplomatic adventurism - is india using certain parleys to convey certain messages. Anyone suggest Agni 5 testing ... Arihant nuclear submarine deployment ... Vikramaditya movement towards East ... in September

    India's GDP is just about 20% of China's. I don't think China will care much about India (in this game).

    This news can make our Indian friends feel excited (for a day or two).

    China's GDP in last 20 years grew because USA allowed China to sell its goods in USA. 75% of China's growth is EXPORT DRIVEN, mainly to USA. Now, that is changing...USA is buying from many different nations such as Bangla Desh, India, Vietnam etc...so Chinese economy will be very slow in next 10 years until China stops being dependent on selling stuff to USA.
    On the other hand, India's GDP is 90% dependent on its domestic market as India only, strted to open to World in last 10 years ,that also, slowly and carefully. Now, you will see in next 10 years, Indian rocket will fly very high. India has millions of Engineers, Doctors, Computer professionals and other highly educated work force. China is ahead in manufacturing factory goods...BUT..India is ahead in high tech and service sector areas such as finance, banking, space science, computers, electronics etc. MOST IMPORTANTLY, India is a democratic and free nation. I would rather live in a free nation and eat bread and lentil soup than to live in a Communist Party Cage and eat bread and butter with extra cream cheese. There is no price of LIVING FREE . As Chinese, you don't understand the value of freedom as you have not tested it yet fully.

    1.where is the 75% come from?
    FYI, 26% according to World bank.

    3.What is the growth rate of India and China in recent years?

    Do you think Indian goods are compete with "made in China" in the world market even in your domestic market.
    FYI, 60% of your power plant equipments are "made in China".(50% in 2012)
    India can buy more Rafales now.:thumb:

    How many 10 years you need?
    India has to catch up Chinese growth rate first.
    FYI, 2 years of China's increasing GDP = India's GDP

    Then, why you need 10 more years?

    Chinese are enjoying our "Unfreedom" lives and visiting "free" countries.

    At 97m and growing, China has most outbound tourists

    First, everyone knows investments was the main reason of China's growth since 2008;
    Second, everyone knows EU is the 1st customer of China now;
    Third, everyone knows Asia/Africa/South America are the fastest growing market for China exportation since 2008;
    Forth, everyone knows China is US's third largest market in 2013 ($178.3 billions)

    Better back up your claim with facts.

    I guess that is why India is struggling with double deficits now. And that is also why India's growth is slowing down faster than China after years of catching up dream.

    Oh, really? Is that why India is importing "low-end" computers, radars, machines and energy equipments from China while exporting "high-end" products such as iron core, cotton, etc.

    Sure, why don't you tell this to those insurgence soldiers within India and ask why they would rather risk their lives in fighting with weapons instead of appreciate this freedom?

    Your Communist Party has brainwashed you extensively. Those who don't have freedom..does not know how a free human being lives. Caged birds like to remain in their cages as they have not known how flying in open skies feels. Mr. No Smoking, do your research ...you will find that China's biggest import item from US is Soybeans . Biggest export items are cheap and low quality clothes, shoes, electronics and appliances who fall apart in hours after you bring them home. In US, Made in China means low quality, fragile products made with the sweat and blood of caged, poor Chinese sweatshop workers. India is too powerful militarily to be intimidated now..it's not 1962 when your Communists stabbed Indian leader Nehru in back. I know that current Chinese leaders are different...esp. President Xi and Prime Minister Li seems reasonable..I have read their speeches..they want to be friendly with India and open Silk Routes for trade...That's good..as making 1.2 billion Indians equipped with Nukes and high tech weapons as enemies of China..is a foolish idea. India's new leader seems to be getting along well with Chinese Leaders...lets see how Modi and Xi's meeting in New Delhi goes on August 17...only 5 days from today. CCP and No Smoking...it's time to clean your minds polluted by Communist propaganda and see the new reality as it is. Trade between India and China is the future.....Jingoism is thing of past.
    One more important fact..in fact..very important...1 trillion dollars of Chinese money is invested in US treasuries (US govt.Bonds), China can not sell US treasuries Bonds and is stuck with them. Selling these bonds will cause sharp rise in Yuan and the export dependent Chinese economy can collapse. Interest rates in US are very low as this Chinese money is which can not leave..is letting Americans enjoy low interest rates.

    1. 100 million "unfreedom" Chinese visit " free" countries per year.
    2.NO.1 export goods from China are mechanical equipments(eg.the huge crane over British new AC) follow by electronics( eg. the PC you are using)
    3.India has to import bullets, shells, rifles and canons till today.
    4.India didn't have successful thermonuclear test yet. Means your nuke can not be minimized, low yields and not a threat to China.(more reading can be found in http://defenceforumindia.com/forum/strategic-forces/6005-agni-v-missile-88.html page 88 could be a good start.)
    5.I dont know who polluted your brain and make it came up such laughable arguments.

    Your foreign policy and policies on East sea and SCS are a complete mess. Chinese are not yet there and I doubt they can be there to implement the agenda of the super power at will.

    There are no friends who can back you up just in case of war with Western powers. Yet you continue to use threatening and bullying to occupy the international waters and others territories.

    In Asia China knows India and Japan are getting closer and yet Chinese are distributing maps of Arunachal as Chinese territory, Japan and India are strategically located on opposite sides of China and this move will only strengthen the military relationship between both countries. This bullying on India thinking that India will budge and accept Chinese tactics is a big illusion which will cost Chinese in the future.

    We know Chinese are not after any territory(not their main priority, they want to grab the territories), their main objective is to is weaken(or break) the potential competitors for Asian hegemony and there by establishing Chinese order in Asia, This is another big illusion.

    1. Japan + India (you may want to add US) is still a joke to PLA (in Asia).

    2.We dont need friends.
    We have 1.3 billion high productivity population, market, resources , food, water and NO.1 production bases in the world.

    3.China was NO.1 in Asia for thousands of years.
