Neutralising sleeper cells in j&k doesn't let pak military feel the heat... its just a tv serial for them. Some how we have to adopt strategies, so that our attacks atleast reach pak military relatives and high value targets.

We have to show them yard stick in losses correlated to death of every Indian to paki military families.

Hope we are properly providing financial and logistic support to BLA and guide them whom to target in the hierarchy . Instead of wasting BLA energies on common military personnel .

Problem is until now, the local politicians and the J&K congress and NCP govt. and the centre(UPA) have been pandering to the separatists sometimes letting terrorists or even Rapists who were stone pelters often go scott free as seps would threaten violent protests.

The current strategy seems to be to not give heed to the separatists, target the local stone pelters and their local leaders, IIT , IIM and other institutions are being setup to actually give these jobless folks something to work for. The violence in J&K will continue for a while until separatists loose their influence among the people in the valley.

Pakis have upped the ante the only way their coward army could - more and more attacks on security forces. While we deal with these and weed out the ones that are already here, we need a direct punch to the Pakis.

The government strategy, from what was shown had a tenet of unpredictably, so we'll probably not repeat what we did on the 28th of September but we need something of perhaps a larger scale.

The timing again is not good for an immediate response as we are not likely to do anything while the BRICS summit is on.

Lets wait and watch, I am sure after this, we'll see some reaction, I only worry more attacks from the coward jehadis might happen in the meantime.

All these attacks are taking place due to help of over ground local workers. BJP NDA-1 association with PDP killed off Ikwan. Now BJP NDA-2 is paying the price.
Raj, Ikhwans were outlawed by Supreme Court order when the matter of Salwa Judum reached it.

I believe - & I hope - since then Ikhwans and SPOs were absored as TA (H&H) Battalions.

They should bring in Punjab Police with brutal experience in crushing separatists into Kashmir and let the Kashmiris know how good they have it right now. They wouldn't dare to pelt stones at PP personnel after a while.

Srinagar: One SSB killed, 8 other injured in attack at CRPF camp in Zakura

Militants attacked a paramilitary force convoy on the outskirts of the city on Friday, killing a jawan and injuring eight others.

The incident took place at Zakura when militants fired at the vehicles of Sashastra Seema Bal carrying its personnel to their camp after performing law and order duties in the city, officials said.

Banned Al-Umar Mujahideen terrorist organisation claimed the responsibility for carrying out the attack and also warned of similar actions in near future.

This outfit had become dormant in the early part of 1990s and ceased to exist after its chief, Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar alias 'Mushtaq Latram', was arrested in 1992.

Zargar was one of the three prisoners exchanged for passengers of IC-814 plane that was hijacked by Jaish-e-Mohammed terror group in 1999.

Besides Zargar, the other two released were Jaish chief Maulana Masood Azhar and Sheikh Omar.

The claim by the outfit signalled revival of the militant group in Kashmir after more than two decades.

In the attack, one jawan of the SSB was killed and eight others were injured, the official said.

The injured, who included a policeman, have been admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched search operations to track down the militants.

This is the first militant attack in the city since the encounter at Nowhatta on August 15 in which a CRPF commandant was killed and nine other personnel were injured.

IIRC When PDP came to power with BJP help during first NDA-1, lot of Ikwanis were murdered in daylight street attacks while PDP laughed all the way. We cannot pacify valley politicians without stabbing them in the back and kicking them in the balls through under ground pro india groups.

Germany denies Pak newspaper report on surgical strikes

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the German embassy in New Delhi have denied a Pakistani newspaper report on a purported conversation between its ambassador Dr Martin Ney and foreign secretary S Jaishankar, in which the latter questioned the veracity of the surgical strikes by the Indian Army’s Special Forces across the Line of Control (LoC) on September 29.

The German Foreign Office in Berlin has sought a clarification about the report from the Pakistan embassy. The report attributed the news to Rukhsana Afzal, minister (political), in the Pakistan mission in Germany.

“The report in News International Pakistan is baseless and without any truth,” said German embassy here.

The Pakistani daily reported that India's foreign secretary had “admitted” to the German ambassador in a recent meeting that the Indian Army did not carry out the surgical strikes. The report claimed that the German authorities shared this information with the Pakistan embassy officials in Berlin.

The German Foreign Office in Berlin also issued a statement calling the report a “bluff”. It said the statement attributed to German Foreign Office was unfounded and without truth. “The German Foreign Office has asked the Pakistan embassy for clarification,” the statement added.

The report also claimed that German authorities, during a recent official meeting with Pakistan embassy officials in Berlin, informed the Pakistan mission about conversation the between foreign secretary and the German ambassador.

German authorities reportedly told this to Rukhsana Afzal, when she met senior desk officer of AfPak division, Simone Stemmler, and Karen Goebels and Jens Wagner from the German foreign ministry, the report said. Simmone confided with the Pakistani diplomat that during a formal meeting between the German ambassador to India and the foreign secretary on the ongoing India-Pakistan stand-off, the envoy was told that there was no surgical strike by the Indian Army inside Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup described the report as completely concocted and baseless. He said that the German ambassador was among a group of envoys briefed by the foreign secretary on September 29 on the surgical strikes. “They have had no further conversation since on this subject,” he said.

Immediately after the strikes, the German envoy supported the Indian contention and defended its right to hunt terrorists across the borders. Dr. Ney said that under international law, every state has the legal obligation to make sure that no terrorism emanates from the territory it controls and also every state has the right to defend itself against international terrorism. He said that Germany stands with India as it has a strategic and ongoing bilateral cooperation on counterterrorism.

Uri terror attack: How four Pakistani terrorists scaled electrified fence at the LoC
Uri/New Delhi: Some shocking details about Uri terrorists have emerged in an investigation carried out by the army.

According to the investigation, the four Pakistani terrorists, who killed 19 soldiers in one of the the bloodiest attacks on an army camp in Uri last month, had used a ladder to scale the electrified fence at the LoC.

Ladder was used near Salamabad nallah

Investigation carried out by the army to identify the infiltration route of the four terrorists led it to conclude that a ladder was used near Salamabad nallah, official sources said.

The army officials said that one of the four, who mounted the brazen attack in Uri, about 102 km from Srinagar, had infiltrated using the gaps along the fence near Salamabad nallah and erected a ladder on the Indian side of the fence, while the other three had a ladder on their side. The two ladders were connected like a pedestrian bridge.

The sources said it was difficult for all the four to infiltrate through the gap used by the first terrorist as each one of them was carrying heavy rucksacks filled with ammunition, weapons and eatables. It would have taken them a lot of time to cross the fence at grave risk to their lives as army teams, which routinely patrol the area, could have spotted them.

After the four infiltrated into India, the ladder, carried by the first terrorist, was handed over back to the two guides -- Mohd Kabir Awan and Basharat-- who accompanied them up to the LoC, sources said, adding it was done to ensure there were no tell-tale signs.

The army is conducting an enquiry at Gohallan and adjoining village Jablah as they suspect the terrorists might have taken shelter there for a day before launching the deadly attack on September 18 which left 19 army personnel dead and a large quantity of arms and ammunition destroyed.

The first incident of terrorists using ladders to cross the fence was reported in Machil sector of North Kashmir earlier this year.

Findings of the internal inquiry by army

The army has launched an internal inquiry into the incident and removed Uri Brigade commander K Soma Shanker.

Preliminary investigations suggested the terrorists had entered the area at least a day before mounting the brazen assault.

The inquiry, which will be completed in a time-bound manner, will also suggest measures to prevent such attacks in future. Pakistan-based groups were now indulging more in "shallow infiltration" during which the terrorists, after crossing the LoC, target the first available army camp or security establishment.

During the investigation it was found that the terrorists had sneaked into the army camp by cutting the perimeter fencing of the highly-guarded installation at one place.

In an indication that the terrorists were well aware of the layout of the base close to the LoC, the assailants had locked the kitchen and store from outside to prevent the soldiers present inside from leaving before setting the structures on fire, they said.

The investigators also said the four terrorists might have sneaked in from PoK on the intervening night of September 16/17 and stayed put at village Sukhdar, overlooking the Brigade headquarter.

Sukhdar village is located at a vantage point allowing an unhindered view of the army base and movement of personnel inside it.

One soldier killed in Pakistan sniper fire at forward post in Poonch
Updated: Oct 16, 2016 21:11 IST
A soldier of the Indian Army was reportedly shot dead in sniper fire from Pakistan on Sunday evening on a forward Indian post along the Line of Control (LoC) in Balakote sector of Poonch district.

The jawan was identified as sepoy Sudesh Kumar of the 6 Rajputana Rifles.

“Around 6 pm on Sunday, a single sniper shot fired by Pakistani sniper hit Indian soldier Sudesh Kumar of 6 Rajputana Rifles at a forward post in Balakote sector. He died instantly,” said an intelligence official, who did not want to be named.

The Indian Army neither retaliated nor confirmed the sniping incident, he added.

Army officials, on the other hand, claimed the jawan died in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Naushera sector of Rajouri district. The identity of the soldier was withheld.

A defence spokesperson said he was yet to get official confirmation of the alleged violation.

Poonch is 250 km and while Rajouri is 150 km northwest of Jammu.

The Pakistan Army earlier violated ceasefire in Naushera on Sunday morning from 4.30 to 8 am, and the Indian Army maintained that there was no loss of life or injury on this side of the border. Mortars were also fired on the Indian posts along the LoC in Naushera sector of Rajouri district.

“Around 4.30 am Pak troops opened fire on our posts in Naushera sector prompting us to retaliate in equal measure,” said a senior officer of the Northern Command.

The officer didn’t specify the nature of Pakistani fire, but a local journalist quoted villagers as saying that they woke up to machine gun fire and mortar explosions.

Following the September 18 Uri army base attack that killed 19 soldiers and India’s subsequent surgical strikes on terror launch pads in PoK, there has been a flare-up on the LoC with both nuclear-armed countries intermittently trading heavy fire.

Escalating tensions have even forced both sides to move some of their battalions and artillery close to the border.
