China's Kirin 925, the fastest smartphone CPU in the world.
That's very good but they seem to be claiming that this is their own design from the ground up. In fact they have taken a licence from ARM plc, a British company for the two processors being used; one of the slides mentions Big-Little and A18/ something else which is ARM designation for their new high end offering for mobile phones/tablets etc.
Most phones and tablets (about 95%) use ARM processors integrated into chips by companies such as Apple (A6, A8), Qualcomm, Nvidia etc. So now Hauwei have joined the club. As an ARM shareholder, I hope they are honest and pay the agreed royalties to ARM. The competition will be hot on their heels.
In fact I believe that the apple A8 already uses the Big-Little architecture but modified by Apple as they have a very expensive architecture licence from Arm which means that they can make their own alterations to the basic processors that Arm supply.
