I will give you the benefit of the doubt and suppose you are right. Please tell me what has China done to puish Pakistan sofar and why is she spending $32 billion on the energy corridor?
I presume when you write 'puish', you mean 'punish'.
Punish Pakistan?
Do you think the Chinese are really that dumb and daft?
They will put pressure on Pakistan, but they will stop short of 'punishing' Pakistan.
Strategically that would be suicidal for China.
They require Pakistan so that, as our old friend from WAB, the Engineer Colonel said - China will fight India to the last Pakistani! The same way the US fought the Soviets to the last Pakistani. Hopefully, China will not discard Pakistan like the US did once their use was no longer required.
Further, China is a wise nation in protecting and preserving her interest.
She is aware that the Straits of Malacca, if blocked, will be suicidal to China and its economy.
Therefore, she requires alternate energy and resource routes. Pakistan and Myanmar provides the same.
Further not satisfied, China has adopted its 'Stirngs of Pearls' strategy to secure its sea lines of communications and construction of Gwadar Port at gate of energy distributing choke point at of Hormoz Strait has raised the U.S. apprehensions about the possible Chinese naval build up as it can off set the U.S domination at choke point of Malacca Strait. The Chinese plan to construct Kra Canal in the southern Thailand to link Bay of Bengal with the South China Sea, by bypassing the U.S dominated Malacca Strait will be important to ensure the inflow of strategic resources to China from Africa and the Gulf.
