Interesting to see Iran above even Brazil and Turkey. And sad to see most Sub-Saharan African countries still stuck in low human development.

even america is ahead of Nederlands , no way.

Though Iam happy my Holland is at 4... amazingly nobody can beat Scandinavian countries


interestingly Canada is at 11 position, the influx of punjabis has took its toll:lol::lol::lol:

Punjabis in Canada roll around in Hummers and live in the wealthy neighbourhoods. It's the people who have grown a habit of having a dozen kids, living in low-cost housing and on government welfare that are bringing everyone down. That's probably also the reason UK sits at 26.

They have oil.
I agree they have large oil reserves.
But shouldn't the quality of human life in a nation that just emerged out of war and still faces terrorist attacks, be really low.
PS: I assume HDI is an indicator of quality of human life and that the list does indeed show 2012 rankings.
