Is LCH production ready now?
Is testing completed?

The design of the final production variant has been frozen.
Tests are still ongoing.
Serial production will begin once tests are completed next year.
Thanks for the response..... This means FOC has still not been achieved..... :(

The very reason why I said "tailor made for Mountain strike purpose".
LCH can operate even in deserts but is one of the few helis which can fly at 20000feet. It is similar to Apache helicopters and is a good replacement, There is no reason to say that LCH won't work on plain lands. But, in plains, it is better to use aircrafts as helicopters are slow and can be hit even with machine gun fire

Digital Audio Control System (DACS) onboard HAL LCH eases the Pilot’s burden by efficiently minimizing the controls, interfacing all the signals in a logical manner and provides the following functions:
1. Intercommunication between Flight Crew and Ground Crew.
2. Interface and control of mike and headset audio signals of various transceivers.
3. Interface of warning signals.
4. Interface to the Cockpit Voice Recorder and Voice Data Recorder. Digital Audio Control System (DACS) implements audio signal conditioning in digital domain using digital signal processing techniques and provides better signal quality by using efficient Adaptive Noise Cancellation

Solid-state modular design and rugged construction provides long life, high reliability and excellent maintainability for both new and retrofit applications on fixed wing and rotary wing platforms. The DACS is a compact, lightweight and low cost system. The DACS 2300A series meets stringent MIL STD requirements like MIL STD 810F and MIL STD 461C/E.

People often compares BS Z10 and LCH. Z 10 is such a BS Chopper which can not fly with 500 KG weight above 10000 ft. LCH can fly at this level with over 2000 KG payload with its cursing speed above 220 KM with an ease. New engine with 15 to 20% more power shall make this machine even better.

IDN TAKE: DRDO DEVELOPS ARMOUR FOR LIGHT COMBAT HELICOPTER

A HAL Light Combat Helicopter taking off during its protracted testing

Defence Materials and Stores Research and Development Establishment (DMSRDE), Kanpur, a subsidiary of DRDO has developed and qualified armour panels against 7.62 mm API bullet from striking velocity of 636±5 m/s within areal density of innovation/tot 28 kg/m2.

Successful ballistic trials of armour panels were conducted at Ordnance Factory Varangaon against 12.7 mm API bullets from striking velocity of 703±5 m/s in areal density of 43 kg/m2.
DMSRDE demonstrated technology for a successful armour solution for LCH from both 7.62 API and 12.7 API ammunition.
The armour panel prototypes for LCH will be produced under a mission mode project of DRDO for providing the complete technological.

They should maintain the weight of panels because its a LIGHT COMBAT HELICOPTER.

Otherwise it'll get the same fate as ARJUN MBT
