Freedom of press can be a very subjective term. How can an organization assign absolute numbers to countries in this matter is something mysterious.

As far as India media goes, the stuff journos and TV channels/press here report incorrectly or even lie and then offer a small apology yet continue to do their thing without being harmed or being sued for everything in most cases would mean there is a heck lot of freedom and leeway.

I don't expect those touting numbers and rankings given by organizations who have their own agenda to understand this though.

So suppose if someone wants to put a biased positive spin about a few countries, they'd weigh more heavily on positive news/data and give rankings accordingly.

Hence when news are always reported with different biases then it would also mean it is ok if surveys bring up different conclusions based on such news. Right?

And does that also mean that all of such surveys conducted then aren't really absolute and hence so no specific entity can claim supremacy at all?
I think those manipulating the press in India have already achieved their target: you who write here are obviously members of intellectual elite of India, and you do believe that these studies are biased. In that sense those who manipulate press in India are much more professional than those who manipulate it in Russia. In Russia they shout out loud, in India they gently whisper to your ears...and grow the seed of doubt.

I am not saying Finland is guilt free and also being a small country with stable society, we have no real need for manipulation.

Wrong.

In India, we know media is corrupt and biased. So we rely more now on alternate channels like social media networks and so on.

There is a reason why sites here like mediacrooks.com are popular.

It is to not be manipulated or at least have an alternate opinion to what is reported in mainstream news channels.

You are right, Finland is a small, homogeneous stable society of few million people, while India is home of more than 15% of Humanity. Migrant from one Indian state might feel like a foreigner in another India state.

Those who manipulate press in UK and US are more professional than those who manipulate press in Russia. Same kind of people who manipulate the press in UK and US do it in India. There is ZERO government interference, India is too big and chaotic to allow any government to take control of the press.. Disliking one form of disinformation and welcoming another is Hypocrisy.

I made some calculations, if whole Russia ( 140 000 000 ) would move to live in Finland, we would have the same population density than you. Of course just speculation, we do not want so large minority of foreign people. No wonder you have difficulties with freedom of the press: nobody can control that big and varied press.

Mostly left-wing, though they seem to want to get on Modi's good side right now.

I have been noticing something about you since I joined this forum. Everytime you start typing about something it somehow involves Russia no matter what. Any specific reasons for that?

Sweden's Political Crisis Ends With Anti-Immigration Party Sidelined

They made some clever moves to sideline anti-immigration party. Swedish political system is good, very good. They recognized Palestinian state, I guess. Bold move.
Huh? Over? Where is it written except in headlines? It seemed to me the election march will decide. Particularly with Charlie Hebdo affair fresh in mind, how do you think a good percentage of cautious people will vote? Pro-immigration?

I guess the reason is that I live 20 km from them and are worried about their current policies. I have noticed that majority of Indians are pro Russia and seem to agree many of Russian´s actions which in my opinion violate international laws. I want to bring alternate view on the matters. I am not specially anti-russian, on the contrary, I like them a people and their cultural heritage is great. I am just very worried about their politics and the way the society is developing towards one party authoritarian state.

Sweden is traditionally very pro immigration, they take 10 times more immigrants a year than Finland. I think they will not limit immigration even after Charlie Hebdo.

 Sweeden or West are Pro immigrants  ... to retain economic growth/culture u need 2.1 TFR (for every women). All developed countries suffering low birth rates so they allowing cheap labor or immigrants.
Immigration to Finland - Ministry of the Interior

We took 17000 immigration last year, I would not call it high. It is only 0,3% per cent of the population. Personally I would like to have more immigration, but majority of Finns think otherwise.

Even i don't support Russia in everything (or most of the things) they do, they do violate international laws but again who doesn't? We have Ukrainian members too i suppose but they look less concerned then you. Pretty strange though. I even follow some Ukrainian propaganda machines on social media even they are more relaxed. That is the reason why i asked you that. But yes you have a reason to be concerned and that shows in your posts as you tell us on every next post about the glorious Finnish forces who defeated the Soviets despite of the size and all. Btw, do you really believe Russia gonna invade Finland? I don't think so especially with their current economy. lol I was reading some Finnish e-media and looks you are not the only one concerned about this tropic. Oh yes don't pay much attention to irritating Russo fanboys.

Instead of importing persons (and problems...) all these countries that have low birth rates/fertility,their govts should find solutions to timprove it..

Maybe I should tone down pro Finnish propaganda. Maybe you are not the only one who thinks that enough is enough.

As a fellow Scandinavians even I have to admit that Finland is probably the best ran Scandinavian country. And it's not because I think that Norway is Danish and Swedes can not hold their liquor (but it is and they can't)

I know that Danish beer is the best and that Swedes are a little bit of scared when it comes to Danes... If you take Norway your monetary problems are over ;)

In Finland we have a saying " it is not the large income that matters, but the frugal spending". Without having any natural resources and only 5.5 million people, we have managed to accumulate more wealth for our peoples wellbeing than 1.4 Bn people Russia and India. I strongly suggest that you stop the overspending and start to think about the future of your people. Both of you. Whats the point of having nukes and aircraft carriers if people live in poverty? Yeah every citizen is contributing to the coffer so that the fund keeps growing in preparation for the future.

But I'm more interested in how the fund is managed to make its growth outpace, such as inflation, devaluation, population growth rate and so on compounded.

Mere personal + employer contribution isn't enough therefore Chinese gov has to inject such as %% shareholdings of state-owned enterprises into the pension fund and raise the ceiling for this fund to invest in securities. Moreover there're plans in the air to postpone the retirement age like from 55 for women to perhaps 57 and 60 for men to 62?! Of course many oppose to this idea.

Such "socialist" social security net is necessary but a Q is how to run it sustainably.
