Utilisation Of DRDO Products for Tackling Terrorism

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has indigenously designed and developed Electronic Counter measure Systems for protection of VVIPs and Security convoys from the threat of radio controlled bombs often called Improvised ExplosiveDevices (IEDs). The Protection System radiates high power electromagnetic signals and prevents the detonation of radio controlled bombs/ IEDs.

A number of these systems developed by DRDO are in use by the State Police and Security Agencies (MHA) and Indian Army. Systems worth nearly Rs.300 Crores have already been productionised and fielded to counter the threat of Radio Controlled bombs. This information was given by Defence Minister Shri AK Antony in a written reply to Shri Nandi Yellaiahin Rajya Sabha today.

Warning to all: If anyone has any extra information to about the IED jamming systems regarding frequency bands, power output, effective range of jamming or any other technical information or information about levels of percolation of technology to frontline troops, acquired word of mouth or via inferencing from declassified literature, better keep it to yourself. There are several IED attacks on Indian forces, paramilitary and CAPF annually. It takes one successful bombing to render years of protective system procurement and implementation useless.

it is very difficult to defuse good IED.

Plus they should have data base of all the IEDs so that we can learn from what terrorists are doing. We should be steps ahead of them.

a while ago i heard about drdo developing ground penetrating radars and laser based ordinance disposal system to nuetralize ied attacks on security forces.any news on that regard?

Vehicle Mounted Ordnance Disposal of Explosives
The System is specifically developed for neutralisation of explosive devices from safe stand-off distances by focusing laser energy on the munitions casing thereby heating it until the explosive filler ignites and starts to burn.

Back when Rao was PM, once he moved pass my home, i used to live near the main road that time and all TV signal when blank that time. It so so powerful jammer. Now terrorists have become more sophisticated, so their is need to jam all the frequencies, for that you wont get in that small device

on an unrelated matter in the second picture there is a vehicle called armoured vehiche for paramilitary.Did our paramilitary forces inducted these or are these just for exibition purposes?
