NEW DELHI (Sputnik) â€” Indian government is looking for a way to reopen a Nokia plant in the southern city of Chennai, closed its doors last November after the company merged with the Microsoft corporation and stopped producing smartphones.
We are concerned about the closure of Nokia plant in Chennai and due to which thousands had been rendered jobless. We are trying our best so that the Nokia plant again starts working," Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the parliament on Tuesday.

Why was the plant closed when Microsoft could have cheap labour cost in places like India.
This was before the Microsoft took over..that the Plant was shut down
Actually Microsoft did not buy this plant in this deal if I remember correctly.
okay...I thought..when Microsoft took over Nokia.. then it means.. 'All your bases are belong to us " thing
