Corps of Army Air Defence completed 18 years of independent existence as a young, dynamic and a techno-savvy combat arm of the Indian Army on 10 Jan 2012.
Today, the Corps of Army Air Defence is undergoing a major modernisation cum upgradation drive with the induction of new, state of the art weapon systems. Besides its conventional role, Army Air Defence personnel are also actively employed in Counter Insurgency Operations and in activities to support the civil authority during calamities.
The Corps has to its credit three Military Crosses, two Ashok Chakras, four Kirti Chakras, twenty one Vir Chakras, nine Shaurya Chakras and four Battle Honours. As a vital arm of the Indian Army the Corps of Army Air Defence is fully trained, motivated and prepared to live up to its Motto AKASHE SHATRUN JAHI or Kill the Enemy in the Sky.
