The Chinese military chief criticises the US for being high handed. This is the same country that invaded Tibet citing 500 year old claims, wanted a piece of Mongolia for similar reasons, calls Vietnam and associated regions in the SE Asia as historical chinese empire areas and has territorial disputes with 8 of it's 12 neighbors? Wow! That is some Cojones!

You overestimate Chinese capabilities, however I would love to see the PRC doing something like this and lose all its business for good. The best it can do is arm NK and even that it is afraid to do because of US, the very country it aspires to counter in the future.

Neither can you go to war with Vietnam, i guess CCP is not that foolish afterall. You can demand and claim all you want, but there is a threshold, which even you can't break.

Vietnam known what China will do and what US can do.So, they gave up. Same as India.
SK just sent their MP to China ....,we told him that "it's too danger to follow US ".

BTW, the way to kill SK is easy. 1.PLA get into NK and portect it citys 2.NK army go into NK. If NK army fail, them china will do it by ourslove. either way ,SK will die after attack.

Gen Chen Bigde's outburst is because of the US Philippines naval exercise and the proposed US Vietnam naval exercises that is to take place next month.

These exercises are in response to the Chinese aggressive actions in the South China Sea and its arbitrary claim to the Sea because of history.

This obviously has put paid to the Chinese hegemonic ambition in the South China Sea and hence the outburst of Gen Chen, which is natural and understandable.

Adm Mike Mullen had at Remin University in China had also mentioned that the US is also a Pacific power and possibly this also

The also not sit well with the Chinese Govt.

The US has now made their intention to encircle and contain China very evident and, as one would recall, Ms Clinton a few days back asked India to be more assertive in Asia and this appears to be a part of the US plan.

A few months ago, the Vietnam Naval Chief had visited India and asked India to help her to modernise her Navy and that followed with a request to the US to help her against the Chinese.

The building blocks are falling in place.
