In the latest provocation by China, the Chinese are going ahead with new constructions in the border areas of Ladakh. This despite India halting construction work in Demchok area after the Chinese objected to it. Between August and October many multistory bunkers have come up on the Chinese side, they are solid concrete structures overlooking into the Indian side. Meanwhile the people of Demchok are now protesting against the new bunkers being built by the Chinese, they say they fear that China may one day threaten them to flee from the area.
