The are all non-essential items that can be sourced from other places that
give better prices.

such as? if it were that simple the coporation already done so. there are many developing countries that has much lower wage than china. cost of labor is not the only concern here. cost of labor affect low-tech product most, such as textile, but electronic, heavy machinery etc etc, require good supply chain, decent skilled labor force, good infastrature to transport etc etc.

Well, of course, he has no problem with that. The problem won't hit him or average american now.
The price will be paid by next generation of americans.
That will be someone else's problem. Every administration only worries about their 4 years.

Chini American bhai bhai. America is also of importance for Chinese food security.

U.S. exports to China last year exceeded $103 billion, including $14.7 billion in crops, the U.S. China Business Council reported earlier this week. The bulk of those crop imports are soybeans but demand is growing for other crops, Scuse said.

"This past year, China got into the corn market in a much larger way," Scuse said. "So, now corn also is a major factor in our trade and we're looking hopefully to continue to expand in that area."

He said there is also Chinese interest in U.S. dried distiller's grain, a product of ethanol production that is used for livestock feed.
I'm always of the opinion that China and America, interdependent like Yin and Yang, shall join hands in the G2 fantasy, to contain other lesser powers's ambitions. So buying more TB is a way to keep such a relationship thriving :fishing:
