The US government appears puzzled at China's ability to quickly catch and imprison (or execute) 20 CIA spies working within the Chinese government. (Reference: China crippled CIA by killing US sources, says New York Times | BBC)

One reasonable possibility is that China is using technology (e.g. fMRI or functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging) to catch spies within the government. A recent study by the "Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania" shows fMRI to be 90% effective. By coupling fMRI with traditional polygraph tests, it would be extremely difficult for a spy to escape an anti-espionage dragnet.
