America warns, Nawaz advises for peace talks with TTP

LAHORE: Advising the government to take the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) peace-talks offer seriously, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Nawaz Sharif said they should immediately start the process.
Nawaz was speaking to media in Lahore on Thursday.

The TTP expressed its willingness to enter peace negotiations on February 4 with the government if three senior politicians – Nawaz, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Jamaat-e-Islami amir Syed Munawar Hasan – would act as guarantors.
Interior minister Rehman Malik claimed Nawaz had refused to be an insurer.

Criticising the government today for being unreliable, Nawaz said hardly anyone would agree to act as a guarantor for the process.
Calling for result-oriented negotiations, the PML-N chief said the country is in need of peace.

Last time in around 2007 Pakis were bending before Talibunnies to accept their terms(means their Madrasa laws) for "Peace" but it was only after US warning and push that Pakis started killing Talibunnies.

Last time in around 2007 Pakis were bending before Talibunnies to accept their terms(means their Madrasa laws) for "Peace" but it was only after US warning and push that Pakis started killing Talibunnies.

More violence, more cross border terrorism so more defamation to Pakistan. So far only WOT has refrained the world from declaring it a terrorist state, but if WOT stops the distance/difference between Terrorists and Pakistan will start to vanish rapidly.

^^ You don't need to deal with Taliban, you need to get rid off the Taliban. US is only helping you in this regard as if US leaves now then your govt and military won't deal with it. And if US leaves after tackling the Taliban and completing WOT, it can bring an ultimate peace and world market for your country. But if you take Taliban as your brethren/co-religionist then it's a different matter.

There's a difference in the policy of Nawaz and IK. IK wants the tribesman on his side to defeat the Taliban, whereas Nawaz wants to maintain temporary peace with them.

For now, what Nawaz is saying is not a bad idea, but eventually, the tribesman will have to take care of the Taliban.

if we would have not started the WOT against them in the first place for usa.there were no things such as taliban in the fata..(taliban against pak/army)

they want to take revenge and they kill pakistani..if we construct a peace deal with them.they wont do this and everything would be as normal as pre 2004

Military solution has already failed..and we also cant afford to pay 90billions each month war expenses which can be solved politically.
you should watch imran khan view of how to tackle them.imran is half mehsud and he has lived in the waziristan and he know the local system there

otherwise this is a never ending war.if america with top notch tech and close to 0.2millions troops could not defeat them
if USSR with half of there military in afghanistan could not defeat less than 50k taliban

than certainly we pakistanis are not from space and also cant defeat them.or it will take too long for us to defeat them..more than 20 years
