2. The MKis were on routine recee mission, detecting vulnerabilities. Sensing an opportunity, command was given to intrude and gauge their response, both in interception speed and ACs used. An recee mission turned into a baiting mission.....

3. The MKIs alongwith the PHALCONs were on a specific signals interception mission. The Phalcon is mostly famous as an AWACS. But what most do not give it credit for is its ability for signals interception/Electronic warfare and network denial capability.

It was Mig-21 and not Su-30 MKI

The Western Air Command is expected to order a Court of Inquiry (CoI) into the technical air space violation incident involving the two MiG 21s from the Bathinda air base, sources said.

Conclusion: this "violation" was to probe the PAF defenses? And is this a routine occurrence?

may be, may not be, 7 km in air specially in fighter, you wont even know that you have crossed it and when you react already 2 minutes would have passed.

Interesting that PAF puts most of its resources to defend the narrow strip of northern Punjab extending from Islamabad-Rawalpindi-Lahore.

Pakistan has a very small breadth. If Lahore-Islamabad sector falls they will lose supply lines to PoK, KP, Potohar Plateau.
