ACOG = Advanced Combat Optical Gunsights

Advanced Combat Optical Gunsights (abbreviated ACOG) are a series of telescopic sights manufactured by Trijicon. The ACOG was originally designed to be used on the M16 rifle and M4 carbine, but Trijicon have also developed ACOG accessories for other firearms. Models provide fixed power magnification levels from 1.5× to 6×. ACOG reticles are illuminated at night by an internal phosphor. Some versions have an additional daytime reticle illumination via a passive external fiber optic light pipe. these sights are produce by Trijicon ..

Cost nearly = 600 - 2000 USD, Depend upon type..

They main purpose of this thread to find alternatives of ACOG with P-rail attachments coz of the costs of ACOG..

@sayareakd Sir..

The Millett Tactical Designated Marksman Scope (DMS) is a terrific scope for a variety of applications. Whether hunting for big or dangerous game, or even if you are in law enforcement, this scope will suit your needs. The illuminated circle dot reticle allows for fast and natural aiming while the illumination allows for use in low light. When cranked up to 4x magnification the 1 MOA dot in the center of the circle allows for precision. Millett computer tests all new scopes.

burris ar 332>>

It's 3X with AR-specific reticle.Close quarters work requires split second target acquisition and aiming. The AR-332 delivers on both fronts with its unique Ballistic/CQTM lighted reticle which can be adjusted to match any lighting condition day or night. For daylight operation, choose the high contrast black reticle for precision aiming out to 600 yards, or switch to red or green for better contrast and faster targeting.

Like all Burris optics, the AR-332 is waterproof and built to last. Multi-coated lenses reduce glare and ensure brighter images. Lightweight and compact, it comes with integrated lens covers and a Picatinny rail mounting bracket. It also easily mounts on an AR carry handle.One-Year Warranty.

IOR Valdada 4x24 M2 Scope>>

Once zeroed, simply use the rangefinding reticle to estimate distances in the field. Set the elevation knob to that distance and the bullet drop feature will automatically compensate for that distance. No holdover will be used. The windage knob (right or left) can then be adjusted in 1 MOA clicks.

Reflex + Magnifier >>

And not the least, Relex + magnifier are one of the cheapest solution, Its flexible in close combat so does mid ranges, Only drawback is the weight of the system and maintenance of two different sights..

Kunal ACOG cost around 1800 to 2000 USD, which roughly means around 1 lacs INR without custom duty. So this would be very very expensive for our soldiers who use INSAS. IMHO we need a good optics which cost around 25000 INR, which is fog proof, water proof, 1/3 cowitness with INSAS and has unique reticle which goes easily with the INSAS. Remember we should do target shooting and not marksman shooting for INSAS.

Plus having a magnifier would be add on, may be angle open red dot at 45 degree for special forces.

This option will give shooter two different red dot sight, regular closed red dot sight for long range shooting and open red dot sight for close quarter combat, where shooter require wide field of view.

Holographic sight like this: (Call of Duty : Black Ops II image nonetheless - I actually enjoyed shooting the M4 in MW3 campaign thanks to holographic sight - earlier, I had always preferred SCAR or AK over M4 in CoD)

Kunal sir said that OFB already produces magnifying optics for INSAS :confused:

Also, the real world EOTech view:

It contains a circle with a dot in the middle. Circle is used when spraying and dot is used for accurate single shot firing. (According to CoD wiki - but does that matter :pound:)

EOTech sight ToT can be bought and produced cheaper in India. That's my opinion of course. Price of EOTech civilian holographic sight 517 is $462 according to Amazon. If we produce at home, price will come down to $250-280. That goes to INR 13,000 to 16,000.

@KM Price given by you is of civilian version. Law enforcement, military and special force version are costly and are rugged. Plus one Indian company make holographic sight which was rejected.

Sir, the reason i am searching for Short - mid range scope, Not marksman ship but accurate fire while on move at ranges over 100meter, With only reflex its not easy..

So, we need a alternative for ACOG, Soon or later we will have P-rail let it be MSMC / AMOGH which ever New AR / INSAS 1B1, We will have this option..

========================

INSAS optics are too like ACOG but lack red dot in it which can glow in day light also it need to be more compact..

Remember we should do target shooting and not marksman shooting for INSAS.

Sir, their is another design which moves to 45 degree and come back to be aligned with red dot sight. It has its own advantages. Like you can view target without red dot, then flip in in line with red dot and you can engage target. I will post pic when i reached home. You see if suddenly you have to use the rifle for short distance fixed magnifyer will creat problem. This design overcome this problem.
