    India tops world murder count
    Jun 2, 2008

NEW DELHI: India has earned the dubious distinction of being the country where maximum number of murders takes place in the world, three times more than its neighbour Pakistan and double the figures in United States.

There were more than 50 lakh incidents of crime reported in 2007-08 which included murder, rape and drug offences, a government report said. There were 32,719 incidents of murder recorded in India, whereas there were 16,692 in the US and 9,631 in Pakistan, the report compiled by National Crime Records Bureau and released by the Union Home Ministry, said. :ranger:

India was followed by South Africa which registered 30,960 incidents of murders. Austria had recorded just 148 murders, whereas Israel registered 177 such incidents.

However, the rate (per lakh population) of murder and other crimes in India was much less compared to other countries. The murder and rape rate in India is three and four (per lakh population) respectively whereas South Africa recorded occurrence rates in the two categories as 65.27 and 115.8 respectively.

"Most of the murders take place due to passion, sudden provocation, crime related and family disputes,'' Delhi police spokesman ACP Rajan Bhagat said. Delhi has recorded an increase of 1.08% in murders in 2007 compared to 2006.

The number of rape cases was maximum in the US which recorded 93,934 such assaults followed by South Africa 54,926 and India 18,359.

The data was compiled in 22 countries which included Australia, Argentina, Austria, Bulgaria, Japan, Canada, England and Wales, Germany, Malaysia, New Zealand, Thailand and Sri Lanka besides others. In India, there were 44,159 incidents of sexual offence, 2,70,861 cases of serious assault and 22,814 robbery and violent theft-related incidents, the report said.

The maximum number of robbery related cases were reported in Japan which had registered 17,25,072 such counts.

The US topped the crime list with 2,31,13,708 total crime related incidents, whereas India registered overall 50,26,337 criminal cases. :ranger:

Crime Rate Comparison of India and USA

one day i calculated crime rate comparison between India Vs United States of America, the second largest democracy as below.

(this comparison also consider the facts that, American people receive Social Security + Free Medical so they are expected to be less violent as compare to the civilians of India, who live life in tough circumstances, having only around 350million Middle Class and rest are Under Class/Poor.)
    ;

Comparison based on per 100,000 (lakh) people

=> India tops world murder count - Times Of India

    1st,
    here, Rapes in Welfare society of US = 93,934/ 3100 (100,000) = 30.3 :toilet:

    Rapes in non-Welfare India = 18,357/ 125,00 (100,000) = 1.47

    2nd,
    Total Murders in Welfare society of US = 16,692/ 3100 (100,000) = 5.38

    Total Murders in non-Welfare society of India = 32,719/ 12500 (100,000) = 2.61

    3rd,
    Total Crimes in Welfare Society of US = 2,31,13,708/ 3100 (100,000) = 7456 :usa:
    Total Crimes in non-Welfare society of India = 50,26,337/ 12500 (100,000) = 402 :india:
hence the "Total Crime Ratio" between the two largest democracies of the world = 18.4 :truestory:

=> India tops world murder count - Times Of India

=> and yes its a truth that all these dramatic increase in Murders, crimes, especially Rapes, started during last 7-8 years only, check the data's. we even find India to be dropped 25 points on the corruption ranking in just 5 years, out of hardly 180 countries, as below. the very first outcome of inviting the Western Culture and their all the good and bad, both :tsk:

=> India 72th in corruption index in 2007

=> India ranked 94thh in Corruption Perception Index ratings by 2012

and i have said before, if the Indian government doesn't take proper steps to control influence of Western Culture, then soon they will have to build more jails for those people who dont even have house, and living in slums :tsk:

Overall Picture of "non-Welfare" society of India Vs the second largest democracy of the world, the USA is as below

There Must be a Study on the Crime Rate of USA

Formally Known as the Wealthiest and the Most Successful Part of World till 2008

To have a better future plan for Emerging Economies

US has been known as the wealthiest and most successful nation of the world, at least till 2008 recession, since when only we read so many economic problems with them, specially about their National Debt became a news since 2008 recession only.....

and the above crime rate of USA must have a study, what exactly makes the wealthiest place of the world, to be known for the highest crime rate too. as the above data's belong to the year 2008. why people living in a country like India aren't so aggressive, live in less, while those who may afford better life are having so much aggressive lifestyle till 2008, till then USA was undoubtedly known as the most successful/wealthiest place of the world?

and for the very first data's this news present to us as as below. the three main categories of the crimes registered in US till 2008

1st; The US topped the crime list with 2,31,13,708 total crime related incidents, whereas India registered overall 50,26,337 criminal cases. :ranger:

2nd; There were 32,719 incidents of murder recorded in India, whereas there were 16,692 in the US

3rd; The number of rape cases was maximum in the US which recorded 93,934, such assaults followed by South Africa 54,926 and India 18,359.

=> India tops world murder count - Times Of India

    here we find,

1st; Share or Rape crimes in Total Crimes of US in 2008; 93,934 /2,31,13,708 = 4.1% of total crimes

2nd; Share of Murders in Total Crimes of US in 2008; 16,692/ 2,31,13,708 = 0.73%

3rd; Drugs Related Offences; 50%+ (my personal experience.)

(the number of robberies, fighting on the streets, sexual offences but not rape etc, also have big ratio.)

View of US's members on these data's are extremely important. i was discussing yesterday that we had a usual talks in Sydney that we have to cross road as George Street is 80 years old, no one thought to have subways like how we have in Cannaught Place in New Delhi, as its a newly developed city, after having experience of lately developed technologies, which are always better than the old once. and Chinese cities are the best examples in this regard, which are mainly developed since early 90s......

and this way, emerging economies like India are blessed with all the new technologies and experiences of OECD economies too. and so high crime rate of USA and the factors affecting it, must be a topic to study for the emerging economies, and contribution of our American friends is highly appreciable on this topic :thumb:

Criterion of Getting "Success" in Life

thats what we discussed once, mainly about rape crimes. "its not the case that people based on Asian nations don't want to fcuk, but they are bound by their Cultural Background, being responsible in society for their deeds, kids too expect having honored parents bla bla. while in these newly made countries like USA, Australia, Canada, hardly 200 to 300 years old nations, we find people are "free", not just with the restrictions of Cultural Background, as we have in Asian nations, but also with any 'obligations' on social level etc too..... i mean, does it matters when you pick a girl from pub in US/UK/Australia, not married till 50? how exactly you lose your reputation in society if you fight on the streets? what if you don't do a professional job like Asian migrants?????? except being a 'free' person, a majority looks total 'free' from even the 'obligations' of life, as a person/ efforts to go high in life while being in competition with your neighbors in studies etc, all look absent similar to an Asian nation nation like India.... :ranger:

there must a study on the social structure of USA/UK/Australia/Canada, how do they fail to be in competition with migrant professionals? why exactly so high crime rate they have, even if they get all the Welfare/Social Security/Medicare etc, what are the driving factors behind? what exactly they try to achieve in life, while having 100% literacy rate, but not even 20% class 10th passed? :toilet: what exactly they try to achieve in life? once i said, "the society, where criterion of getting success in life isn't education, people are then generally adopt path of crimes to go high in life, and thats the foundation of Western society like US/UK/Australia/Canada etc, whose total laboratories are filled with highly competent migrant professionals, and hence they have all the technologies and good life. and hence, those who aren't successful in life by either way, they adopt path of crimes to go high in life, leaving these countries with so high crime rate."

here, rulers of these Western countries are responsible to prove, why I'm wrong? just come out of the bluffs that your people want to have fun in life but not others....... you just can't define 'success' in terms of having full fun in life, definitely not :nono:.

in fact, there must be a common consensus among all the political parties of India that India is committed to maintain traditional "Total Crime Rate" below 400 per 100,000 population as the first priority, with a space to reduce it too (as per the above calculation for the year 2008.) every efforts are needed to make sure that 'character' of common Indian civilians are maintained, regardless any type of external influence on the Indian Cultural, on its society as whole :india:

Influence of Western Culture on Indian Society

India is a secular country where the people have the freedom to practice any religion and also to convert into another religion of their choice. So, all the cultures are freely accepted and respected by the Indians. It’s an environment to cultivate or build oneself ethically, socially and in all other aspects that lead an all over human development. :india:

Every culture is a combination of some good and bad features. All in one, culture means ‘a way of life’. Every geographical body has its own custom viz. culture. People of different nations are recognized by their culture. One should be proud on its impressive traditions. It is the responsibility of all citizens to preserve their own ethnicity. :ranger:

Indian culture is richly known in other parts of the world since the ancient age. Its multi-diverse flavour has been consistently unique in its very own way. Manners, traditions, living and trading patterns etc. are one of the graceful components of Indian culture. The most important feature of Indian culture is its values. These values are deeply rooted within the heart, mind, body and soul of its dwellers.

But, the influence of western culture started in India during the 19th century when the british established their colony in the country.
Western culture, considered as the most advanced culture on globe, has started surmounting its flavour on Indian roots. Western culture has always shown its influence on Indian society. This could be for the multiple reasons like fascination, dreamy autonomy etc., which are somehow absent in Indian culture. Western culture conveys and promotes the ideas and values of advanced civilization across people of India.

There are ample of good things found in the western culture, which every Indian should proudly learn and adopt.:thumb: But what about the negative influences of the western culture? Every package comes with pros and cons. Indians should definitely use the culture strain before getting diluted under the flow of any cultural influence. The leading reasons for such impact are pursuit of wealth and power of Western media.

The culture of India has been shaped not only by its long history, unique geography and diverse demography, but also by its ancient heritages. Regarded by some historians as the “oldest living civilization of Earth”, the Indian tradition dates back to 8,000 BC and has a continuous recorded history for over 2,500 years.

Westernization should not affect the core traditions of Indian society but may change the lifestyle and apparent characteristics of the society with the graceful add-ons like punctuality, trustworthiness, loyalty, professionalism should be welcomed and adored. :ranger:

These changes are like the betraying our old way of life, which we obtained through our ancestors. Updating is necessary but getting washed-off in influence is wide of the mark. If this continues, days will not be far away when the famous Indian civilization would be buried not by others but by the Indian themselves.

Due to globalization the rich culture of India is disappearing. The most impact is of western culture on India culture. Western culture is based more on materialistic factors where as our culture has a spiritual base.

The culture of India is been disappearing by many ways the youths in India do not respect their elders, the families in India live separate. And thus have lost contacts with their other relatives the big point which is making the culture of India to disappear in bollywood the dressing style of the actresses, the slang word used in movies are been influenced the youth to bad step of life. The young ones try to act the same as these actors do which is very bad to the culture of India.

The lack of morals, the lacking faith in God, having late night parties, the influence of drugs and alcohols, least interest in Indian languages like Sanskrit, Hindi, Celebrating mothers day, fathers day, valentine day, fools day etc rather than celebrating our Indian festivals and thus wasting their precious time of life, Thinking to be independent at an early age

So, I strongly say that accept good from that and try to know our Indian culture more than u definitely change mind. :truestory:

Falling Economies are likely to have a Continuous decline, including on the social level

there is a difference between growing and falling economies. in a simple term, "when you are falling, you fall not only in monetary means but also there is a certain moral fall registered. and growing economies always have more satisfactory people than before, hence helping them have more space to gain moral values too....."

few days before we read that Indian economy grew by around 7.8% since 2002 to 2013, while it generated only 2% jobs per year, and its equivalent to 2% population growth during 80s. and hence, around 5.8% net growth in income per head is registered since 2002, for the 11 years, adjusting inflation. hence, it translate to around twice income per head since 2002, while we find growth rate of India since 1951 at around 5.81% itself. means, there was a level of growth of income till 2002 itself :ranger:

while at the same time, we see a net fall in income of US/EU, including reduction in social security etc they were receiving too, mainly since 2008. and thats the problem of going from top to down, while watching others growing at the same time. as we find UPA-2 government to be having 6.5% growth rate for the current 5 years of rule itself, since 2009 recession to 2014........

even if Indians don't get welfare, there was a source of earning for all to survive somehow, and its double since 2002, and around 8 time since 1951. while those of US/EU who were having little conformable life till 90s, they are on decline now. and we finds a certain decline in moral values/ character in them to extent too, with a consistent increase in crime rate itself. for example of the news as below, which clearly shows an effect of 2008 recession on the US's social structure :ranger:

We have a news as below too. it does look like once you get comfortable in life, have enough in pocket, you get more careless with little aggressive too. while having lesser in pocket keep you under living in less, with whatever life offer.......

what factors might be behind these data's? its look something like lies, or incorrect, can't be believed, but this is the information we have in market..... once i made a point in Australia, even if people get Welfare/ social security/ free medicare, we aren't getting the best performing kids in schools as compare to developing countries, (except high performance in sports), neither crime rate looks lesser than the non-Welfare developing countries....... what might be the driving factors behind these news, when we find Non-Welfare poor countries having almost same or lesser crime rate than US, the most successful country, undoubtedly till 2008 at least? :ranger:

even if credibility of these analysis is always on question, one of the analysis we have as below :ranger:

    Likelihood Vs being a Victim

thats a good idea, as we do know that there was a proper civilization in Europe even in mid ages, when there was no social security/medicare etc. and that's what we would like to discuss here, the factors which were behind increase in crime rate there since WW2 since mid 20th century, along with free life/ social security/medicare etc.

for example of Pakistan and USA, while comparing these two nations in the reports of posts#2 and #9, the Likelihood of Being a Victim and number of Prison Population tells us two different stories. the post#9 explains the Likelihood to be a victim, the chances/possibility/ probability of being attacked by a crime, and here we find Pakistan+Bangladesh to be much risky places to live as compare to USA. but the post#2 tells us that the number of crimes are very less in Pakistan as compare to USA, hence very low prison rate this way. and there are certain reasons behind it, and one of the reason is, "civilians of Pakistan themselves defend themselves from crimes, whether the Authority may help them or not...." :ranger:
as we do know very high Arms per population rate of Pakistan, but mostly illegal so the correct data's are always unavailable.

(and again, even if credibility of these analysis is always on question, one of the analysis we have here.)

for example of India here, its moderately ranked in the middle of the Crime Index, means its a country where yo do have moderate threats of the majors crimes of the list of post#9. but people are themselves careful to be defended. for example of comparing India and Australia which have almost similar Crime Index, even if you know that walking on night may result in an attack on the streets, you do take risk in Australia at the rate of 44.44, while in India the civilians are worried for that certain risk on night. so, they either 'prefer not to' walk on night so frequent, or come in company of a few friends to be defended....... here we have a major example of the crime capital of India, the Delhi. after incidents of rapes during last few years, we now find girls taking proper care, or in group while going to risky areas, hence avoiding the attacks on them to a certain level this way. while in Australia on comparison, which is put at par with India on Crime Index, even if you know that having a drink with a male friend on night may result in unwanted sex offence, you do visit late nights, while taking that certain risk. similarly civilians are taking those risks in Australia at the factor of 44.44, while Indian civilians 'generally' avoid these risks, which they have at the factor of 42.12. hence prison population Australia at around 130, more than 4 times than India at 30.....

(while im pretty much sure that Delhi would score 50+ in this table, if put separately from rest of India )

The Role Modal of Asia, The Japan :japan:

here we find Japan's prison rate at very close to India, even if its the most advanced nation of Asia, while owning the best technologies of world, which was developed by the Japanese people itself, (in contrast to USA which mostly hired migrant professionals.) and the reason behind it, the "Likelihood of being a Vitim" is itself very low at 13.11, the lowest due to their Cultural Background, i think. here we find Japan refusing to accept that being a rich nation means for high crime rate too :truestory:

Japan must be considered as a Role Modal to build a Prosper India

here, we have a legend to learn from the mistakes of today's industrialized nations, and we find there are mainly 2 categories of Developed Nations. one with very low crime rate, which includes Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea type Asian Industrialized nations. while on the other side we find US and many other Wealthy Countries gained wealth along with very high crime rate too, no matter how much Welfare/Social Security/Medicare etc they provide to their people. and India must learn from these nations. Before India become a Rich nation, there must be a study on the high crime rate of US/West, and the factors why Japan/ Singapore/ Taiwan/ Hongkong have very less crime likelyhood and crime rate both while being developed Asian nations itself. :thumb:

we have data's of 2008 in post#2, before recession in US so it does mean that this analysis explains the peak of US, it had till 2008. and, there must be a common consensus among all the political parties, systems of India that India must maintain 400 or below criminal incidents per 100,000 population in future too, even if it maintain low growth rate also, but we want crime rate of India to be lower than what it traditionally maintained till 2008, as below :india:

for example, Indian politicians, bureaucrats, senior position holders in security agencies may sit altogether and discuss, "what if India register only 2% growth rate for the next 20 years, will it help us maintain the current crime rate, with a space to reduce it too? (which was lesser than 400 crimes per 100,000 population till 2008, post#2.) and, even if we get (-)ve growth rate from today, is it a better option as compare to have high growth rate and then have a very high Crime Rate society like Rich US/West????

or, we may learn something from Japan, which has Buddhist background, means having some similarities with Indian cultural background too, to maintain low crime rate, along with high Growth Rate " :india:

Those who are using Technologies are not the same people who developed it

also, its only the high qualified professionals of developing countries who helped these US/UK maintain food supply for years by running their industries, by developing new technologies which they sold in world market. for example, Mr B.Gates is the richest man of world not because he sold the technologies developed by Americans . but its the hard working high qualified professional migrants, who came under skill quota and helped these American firms have these technologies. its not the cultural background of US/UK which helped them have these technologies, they use. those who developed high techs and those who are using these technologies are two different people, of two different cultural backgrounds. taking drugs, fcuk here and there and use these high techs to make slaves in different parts of the world is a quite different issue, as compare to develop those high technologies by themselves

we generally say, even the very basic software of Microsoft, Hotmail, was developed by an Indian migrant, Mr Sabir Bhatia. similarly, the software's sold by Microsoft were never developed by US's born people :disagree:, but by the hard working migrant professionals of developing countries who came there under skill quota of different Demand Lists of US/Australia/UK...... and it will be interesting to see, how long will it really take these "slave makers" to come our of the "Bill Gates fantasy" they live in, which is in parallel with the drug effects on them, they always live in.... men are labors and women prostitutes and make slaves in different parts of world by uniting people as a nation, and how long all these will continue under the Bill Gates's fantasy they live in, we all are waiting to see :ranger:

Not bad for a country with a population of only 50 million (South Africa). These stats are, presumably, only crimes that have been reported in the case of rape. I am sure that the number of rape cases in south Africa would rise dramtically, if all cases where reported to the police.

hmmmm South Africa has many issues, similar to India. like people don't get welfare/social security, coming from other parts of Africa etc. but here the main issue is about USA, which is having Total Crime Rate at 7,456 per 100,000 population, as compare to a non-welfare society like India, post#2

and here we also discussing about drinks and drugs culture of US/West, and the culture background of India which has led it to have highly competent students, along with crime rate at hardly 402 per 100,000 population, post#2. and how to make India, which would learn from all the goods of West and defend itself from their all the bads at the same time, as discussed in the article of post#5 :thumb:

we simple don't want any change in the picture as below. even if growth rate of India remain low, we want it to have 400 or less crime rate per 100,000 population. we even have background of our elders who believe in living in less, but 'character' is the main issue. we simply don't want a society where people aren't loyal to their families, kids taking drugs in mass as their parents don't care about them, as they keep changing with other partners. even if growth rate of India remains low, it must not result in high crime rate. and we want to learn from the mistakes of US/West, the main purpose of this thread :truestory:

South Africa does provide welfare for it's citizens. State pension provided for the elderly, grants provided for diabled, grants provided for foster care families. The youth wage subsidy is currently being passed into law, that gives companies tax incentives to employ youth (educated and uneducated) to decrease rampant unemployment amongst the youth.

even with all of this crime in South Africa remains one of the crime capitals of the world.

and thats the topic of this thread. even if we may smell religious aspect too, backed by their cultural background, we may easily see Asian Industrialized countries having too good performance on this side. whether Japan, South Korea, Hongkong, Taiwan, Singapore, hence covering all the members of of OECD economies from Asia, and they not only have very low crime rate per 100,000 population as compare to other OECD economies, similar to India. but also "Crime Likelihood" in the survey as below looks very good, and highly appreciating, in fact.

and from here, even if you ask a kid, how your country would look like/ you would dream for, then they would straight say, little low growth is definitely welcomed if we may match the Asian rich nations who are toooooooo poorly put on the bottom of this list as below :truestory:
(even if credibility of these analysis is always on question, one of the analysis we have as below)

=> and apart from the above analysis, we have the "Number Game" as below.

List of countries by incarceration rate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

(here, the post#2 compares India's and US's Crime Rates at the ratio of around 18.4 times, while the Prisoner Population comes at around 716/30 = '24', which may be because of delays in cases in Indian courts, hence helping around 30% those people this way, just an estimate to discuss the topic.) :thumb:

something more to tell the high performing story of South Africa as below, which hardly has population closed to 50million but has handsomely outperformed India of 1.30 billion population in the list as below

=> All countries compared for Crime > Total crimes
