Mumbai: Bangalore-based engineering and manufacturing company Dynamatic Technologies Ltd said on Friday that it has signed an agreement and a model purchase contract with aircraft maker Boeing Co. of the US for the manufacture of aft pylon and cargo ramp assemblies for Boeing's CH-47F Chinook helicopter.

The company did not specify the value of the contract.

"The potential work is slated to commence by the end of 2014," the company said in a filing to the BSE.

On 21 December, Dynamatic Technologies signed an agreement with Bell Helicopter Textron Inc. to explore whether it could be a subcontractor for the airframe cabin assembly, airframe components and other parts for the Bell 407.

The estimated business volume of the work proposed is approximately $243 million over a 10-year period starting in 2013, the company had said in December.

According to the Indian company's website, it designs and builds engineered products for automotive, aeronautical, hydraulic and security applications at its manufacturing facilities in Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Nasik, the UK and Germany.

India's Dynamatic Technologies Limited has manufactured the first set of aft pylon and cargo ramp assemblies for Boeing's CH-47F Chinook helicopter. "The production of major aerostructures for Boeing's CH-47F helicopter is a major accomplishment, and is a significant milestone for the Indian aerospace industry," said Udayant Malhoutra, CEO and managing director, Dynamatic Technologies Limited. "The Chinook is an advanced helicopter requiring complex manufacturing processes, and this Make-in-India capability demonstrates that Indian companies can deliver high standards of quality and productivity within a competitive cost structure that is essential for the aerospace sector," said Dennis Swanson, vice president, Boeing Defense, Space & Security India. "In a competitive world where our customers are increasingly demanding more for less, this delivery is a milestone that demonstrates the capability we are scaling-up with our supply- chain partners, right here in India," said Prat Kumar president for Boeing India. "We set up a new assembly line with Dynamatic Technologies soon after the Prime Minister formally launched the 'Make in India' program in September 2014. Going forward, our participation will continue to accelerate with support from government and our industry partners," Kumar added. The commitment of Boeing and Dynamatic to "Make in India" was highlighted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his inaugural address at Aero India 2015. In September last year Dynamatic Technologies and its collaborator Boeing inaugurated a plant in India to manufacture critical parts for a Boeing helicopter that is sold globally, the prime minister said.
