actually the low and high speed taxi trails have been done for several times...it seems that no one keep it updated in this thread.
long ago(about 1 year),it was said that the maiden flight was supposed to be in this September...but obviously the team missed this deadline...
according to some other clues, we could expect the first take-off to happen soon

Yeah. Seems like it. Since they have already shown photographs of it on the tarmac.

according to some insiders,what J31 did today is just rehearsal.they got planes(J8,J31,J11bs) on runway one by one and cars and people lined up,as if prepared for some VIP.
and they said vip was to coming tomorrow~
now we have a new tomorrow to expect..

the jet took off @10:32 ,local time...and landed @10:43...the first flight lasts around 10 minutes...

the company is a J11BS

I think China will make further downgraded version for Pakistan for jf17.

Unrealistic expectations. You don't see a Boeing kinda F-22 now, do you?

J-31 is probaby meant for the Navy, so the Air force may use the same or a new project. Again, it is not necessary they will choose one from CAC if it is a new project.

It's like a twin engine F-35 without the extra fat.

It's more of stealthy Rafale than a F-35 equivalent, if we talk in terms of fuel capacity.

So, around 5 tons fuel capacity compared to 8.3 tons on the F-35?

Wishful thinking at best... The PLAAF and PLANAF have a huge demand for 5th gen fighters, but even they cant support 4 individual 5th generation designs at once... J20 and J31 are all the 5th gen fighters China will see for a while. The only other prospect is the anticipated bomber project from Xian, and even that probably wont fly before 2016...

I highly doubt it, no need for all these trouble. CAC may well add more stealth features on J10B to make it a Slient Fierce Dragon and share some squadrons with PAF.
