My Beautiful Mauritius

YouTube - Anthem Mauritius

Glo-o-ory to thee,
Motherland, oh motherland of mine,
Sweet is thy beauty,
Sweet is thy fragrance,
around thee we gather,
as one people,
as one nation,
In peace, justice and liberty,
Beloved country may God bless thee,
for ever and ever.

Came across this on the internet, and figured I'd post it- it's the 'Greenathon Anthem': by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

Last month, in my collage, we celebrated International Education Week. One of the programs in the agenda was to celebrate International Flag Day ceremoney. What it basically was to honor every students from around the globe studying in my University by hosting their flags and playing their National Anthems. Fortunately, they picked me to host the Indian flag and I had the honor to represent our motherland INDIA.

They played our national anthem along with many other nations while I stood at the stage with a huge Indian flag. Guys it was THE most honorable moment in my life. I thought I should share my experiance with you all when i came across this beautiful thread. I still gets goosebumbs when i think about it.

Resurrecting this thread again! ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

My second favorite national anthem: 'Nkosi sikelel' iAfrika'. The South Afrikan national anthem is composed of five of its thirteen national languages: Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu, Lesotho and English, and is the only mutli-modal national anthem in the world.

Three different versions:

And this version I find particularly inspiring. It was sung in the late 90's, just after the fight against apartheid had been won:

Ah that's the "original" version, which has been banned. Therefore just the 3rd strophe of the Deutschlandlied is supposed to be sung/used for any official occasion. This is the following:

Ja, Ich weiss. Ich hatte vor, die ursprüngliche Version zu stellen- ohne 'kulturellen Imperialismus' =xD

Lang lieb Deutschland! Wir lieben Sie!

China's March of the Volunteers born in 1934 when China was sinking in WW2

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/March_of_the_Volunteers

Arise, ye who refuse to be slaves!
Let us amount our flesh and blood towards our new Great Wall!
The Chinese nation faces its greatest peril,
The thundering roar of our peoples will be heard.
Arise! Arise! Arise!
We are many, but our hearts beat as one!
Selflessly braving the enemy's gunfire, march on!
Selflessly braving the enemy's gunfire, march on!
March on! March on! On!
Now or never, a call for action NOW!
