Many universities in the US are asking Indian students who have taken Covaxin or Sputnik V to re-vaccinate with WHO-approved vaccines before the start of the autumn semester.

Universities across the US are asking students to re-vaccinate if they have been inoculated against Covid-19 with vaccines that do not yet have the approval of the World Health Organisation. This includes Indian students who have taken Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin or the Russian vaccine Sputnik V.

revaccination policy makes sense I think, vaccine is not a wonder drug. More often than not, vaccine efficacy depends on the virus variant in that area. Vaccines are modified to incorporate current variants in that area every year.

just because someone is vaccinated in India, doesn’t necessarily mean they are immune from a variant in US.
Look at it another way, this is a pressure tactic on the side of US Gov to get us to allow Pfizer/Moderna in India, and probably purchase a few billion worth doses also.

GoI seems to be confident that one billion doses will be manufactured in India in between jul & dec, impact of Pfizer will get nullified. only a few rich people & anglophiles will be taking them.

reliance is vaccinating all its employees with J&J, asked permission from GoI.

Indian made Covishield is used all over and has UN authorization.,,which is the same version as that used in India
why not Covax and Sputnik,?
IMO modification if any can be included in both too if covishield can do it.

CSIR India and Laxai Life Sciences initiate clinical trials of promising repurposed drug Niclosamide for treatment of Covid-19

Posted On: 06 JUN 2021 2:02PM by PIB Delhi

CSIR in collaboration with Laxai Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd., has initiated Phase-II clinical trial with anti-helminitic drug Niclosamide for treatment of Covid-19. The trial is a multi-centric, phase-II, randomized, open label clinical study to evaluate efficacy, safety and tolerability of NIclosamide for the treatment of hospitalized Covid-19 patients. Niclosamide has been extensively used in past for treatment of tapeworm’s infection in adults as well as children. The safety profile of this drug has been tested over time and has been found safe for human consumption at different dose levels.

Dr Shekhar C Mande, Director General, CSIR expressed his happiness over the SEC recommendations to conduct this Phase II clinical trial using Niclosamide, which is generic, affordable drug and easily available in India and therefore can be made available to our population. Dr Ram Vishwakarma, Advisor to DG-CSIR pointed out that

a) in a screen to identify drugs that can inhibit syncytia formation, Niclosamide was identified as a promising repurposed drug by research group from King’s College, London, who collaborated in this project. The syncytia or fused cells observed in the lungs of patients with COVID-19 probably results from the fusogenic activity of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and Niclosamide can inhibit syncytia formation.

b) Independently, collaborative research between CSIR-IIIM, Jammu and NCBS, Bangalore has recently demonstrated that Niclosamide is also a potential SARS-CoV2 entry inhibitor blocking the viral entry through pH dependent endocytic pathway. Given these two independent experimental studies, Niclosamide has now emerged as a promising drug candidate for clinical trial in Covid-19 patients.

Dr Srivari Chandrashekhar, Director CSIR-IICT Hyderabad, highlighted that the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) is being made by Laxai Life Sciences based on improved technology developed at IICT and the lab is a partner in this important clinical trial which could provide cost effective therapeutic options for patients if trial is successful.

Dr Ram Upadhayaya, CEO, Laxai informed, that realizing the potential of Niclosamide, efforts were initiated last year itself to undertake clinical trials. Having received approval from drug regulator, the clinical trial has been initiated this week at different sites and is expected that the trial will be completed within 8-12 weeks. Based on successful clinical evidence generated during clinical trials in Indian studies, emergency use authorization may be sought so that more treatment options are available to COVID-19 patients.

Mysterious brain syndrome grips Canada, 48 people hit - Times of India
NYT News Service / Jun 6, 2021, 06:59 IST

2 minutes

MONTREAL: Forty-eight people from the same small Canadian province struck with a baffling mix of symptoms including insomnia, impaired motor function and hallucinations such as visions of the dead. Conspiracy theories blamed the illness on cellphone towers and Covid shots. These are some plots of a mystery that has stumped the medical establishment, attracted the attention of top neurologists and scared residents of New Brunswick, a province of 770,000. In the past six years, dozens have fallen ill from the disease, and six people have died.

Hope it is something psychogenic.

Don't recall who j was discussing this with here, but this is just what I was pointing about. Chini controlled WHO will create problems.

GoI seems to be confident that one billion doses will be manufactured in India in between jul & dec, impact of Pfizer will get nullified. only a few rich people & anglophiles will be taking them.

The game is bigger. They want the center to buy everything. The courts are inching that way.

So for instance, Delhi CM might demand Pfizer for all kids and courts will ask GoI to procure.

Great Reset and New World Order via this 'Plan'demic.

Conspiracy or a Fact?

This is the question to be asked.

Look at US and you will know it's true. The UBI is rhe same nonsense.

In many states, peope can get more money as doles in terms of unemployment benefit, loan subsidies, food and health security etc. than the minimum wage.

Why would they work when they make more on doles?

The goal is to eliminate small business and the middle class using tech for the tasks that most in service performed. Eliminate personal property.ans have a class entirety dependant on teh government.

It's the same socialist BS with a few changes of bug business and big government collaboration enabled by modern tech.

People think is pandemic will go away and things will be back to as they were. The change is already irrevocable.

Governments the world over have tasted that people can be subjugated by fear and their lives controlled. There is no goiing back.

Over the coming years, there will be more emergencies that will require more lockdowns.

Y'all Nibbiars. I was checking slots for my second dose and got update in one app for 1 slot in North Delhi. Did not check the center details and booked slot in Hurry!
Now the center is over 65KM away and the slot is for today itself and I cant travel today due to some reasons.
I am trying to cancel the appointment from Arogya Setu app but it refresh and shows the appointment again.
Does the slot get cancel on its own if we are not able to reach the center?
Can we reschedule it tomorrow again without any hassle?

Also how long can we wait till Second shot of Covaxin. It is minimum 28 days currently but how long can we increase the gap between the two shots?

Very difficult to cancel on the day of the appointment itself. It may allow you to reschedule for a later date if other appointments are available.
