Government take steps to ramp up availability of Amphotericin B - to fight Mucormycosis

Press Information Bureau: May 13, 2021

A sudden increase in demand has been observed in some states for Amphotericin B which is being actively prescribed by the physicians to patients suffering from Mucormycosis, a post COVID-19 complication. The Government of India is therefore engaging with the manufacturers to ramp up production of the drug. The supply position is expected to improve with extra imports of this drug and increase in its production domestically.

After reviewing the stock position with the manufacturers/importers, and the demand pattern of Amphotericin B the Department of Pharma, has on 11th May, 2021 , allocated this drug amongst the States/UTs based on expected supply that will be available from May 10 to May 31, 2021. States have been requested to put in place a mechanism for equitable distribution of supplies amongst Government and Private hospitals and health care agencies. States have also been requested to publicise in the State the ‘Point of Contact’ for Private and Government hospitals to obtain the drug from this allocation. Further, States have been requested that judicious use may be made of the stock that has been already supplied as well as stock that has been allocated. The arrangements for supply will be monitored by National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority (NPPA).

The country is going through a severe wave of pandemic and it has affected various parts of the country. The Government of India is continuously working to augment the supply of essential COVID-19 medicines and making them available to the State Governments and UTs through an equitable and transparent manner.

Modi govt to procure 1.5 lakh units of DRDO’s ‘Oxycare’ through PM CARES Fund

In a significant decision, the Modi government on Wednesday approved the procurement of 1,50,000 units of the ‘Oxycare’ system at the cost of Rs 322.5 crore. The Oxycare system is developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

Oxycare units were developed by the DRDO’s Bengaluru-based Defence Bio-Engineering and Electro Medical Laboratory (DEBEL) for soldiers posted at extreme high-altitude areas. The system aims to optimise the usage of oxygen based on the SpO2 reading of the patient and thus effectively increasing the utility of the oxygen cylinders.

“The intelligent configuration includes a system for automatic regulation of Oxygen through a Low Pressure Regulator, Electronic Control System and an SpO2 Probe in addition to the basic version,” the centre said.

The system comes in two variants – Manual and automatic. The Modi government has procured 1,00,000 manual and 50,000 automatic oxygen systems with non-rebreather (NRB) masks for immediate usage. The automatic system provides a suitable audio warning for various failure scenarios, including low SpO2 values and probe disconnections.

The non-rebreather masks are the face masks connected to a reservoir bag that allows a patient to intake only pure oxygen. A patient using an NRB mask is unable to inhale anything he or she exhales. A non-rebreather mask typically delivers 70 to 100% oxygen, thus increasing the consumption from a single-cylinder by 30 to 40%.

How would they know? It was a new virus for them. Everyone was feeling their way in the dark.

What country was EVER locked down before COVID 19? No country got locked down for AIDS, MERS, H1N1, etc. No flights were blocked from the US where AIDS was spread across the world killing millions. No country had ever had all flights banned before. And before China locked down Wuhan, no one locked down a city of 11M before.

China basically sacrificed Wuhan for 76 days. If this first appeared in Chicago or Mumbai would India or US have locked down those cities?

You people are using China's decision to do an unprecedented lockdown on Wuhan against it. If China never locked down Wuhan, it would have exploded everywhere in February 2020. The US and India had two to three months to prepare unlike China which had no time.

You are asking a wrong question. Change the question about polio to about small pox and answer is “yes, small pox does not exist except in some labs.”
The reason polio is a wrong question is because Pakistan and Afghanistan have not eradicated polio, yet. That means it is a job far from over and polio continues exist in the wild. There is a huge difference between wild strains and lab strains but that is for some other time.

Republican Senator Rand Paul accuses Anthony Fauci of funding coronavirus research

A congressional hearing on the coronavirus pandemic became heated after Republican Senator Rand Paul accused infectious diseases expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, for being personally involved in the origin of the virus.

Paul has been at the forefront of pressing Dr. Fauci and other officials during COVID-19 to get answers on masking, capacity limits, and business shutdowns.

The Republican senator claims that Dr. Fauci authorised and funded risky research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, where scientists performed gain-of-function research, that is, making any virus more infectious and deadly.

Ok my question is

If every single person on earth got vaccinated against any virus then it means that virus no more exists ? Right ?

not really.
it simply means the virus is not as potent as it is in vaccinated persons.
Those vaccinated would still get attacked by virus..
Their body will fight it and they wont even know that they got attacked by polio virus in this case, as they would only show secondary symptoms like diarrhea etc and they will be alright in a few days.

Guys I was about to donate to Sewa and then I saw some familiar names like Ro Khanna in one of the articles mentioning Sewa and backedoff. Any one knows if its really working with chaddi org?
Based on news articles and librandu outrage, we can safely assume that it is true. They are not going to mention clearly as they have to live in ultra woke USA. Sewa Bharati India clearly mentions their affiliation with RSS.

There is also, Vishwa Hindu Parishad USA , which is also working for covid relief.
This is the consignment they sent:

Depends on the virus and type of vaccine. First the virus: if human is the only host for the virus and if the vaccine against that virus prevents colonization and infection of humans, then it will be eradicated with mass immunization. Eg oral polio vaccine can eradicate wild polio virus, human small pox is eradicated.

If the vaccine only prevents the disease (not infection) and if the virus can also have non-human hosts then the virus can only be contained (not eradicated) eg influenza, coronavirus (there are 100s of types) etc
