Cant say for whole india or big states but atleast in state like mine , those in villages are vaccinated already...Both my parents & Inlaws who stay in village are vaccinated....

SERRANA, Brazil—This town of 45,000 people in southeastern Brazil has been at the center of a unique experiment for the past three months: vaccinate nearly every adult against Covid-19 and see what happens.
In recent weeks, after most of the adults here got their second dose, Covid-19 cases and deaths plunged and life has started to return to normal as the pandemic continues to rage across Brazil.

In the heart of Serrana, children squealed with laughter as they chased each other across the main square, while groups of friends—many unmasked —stopped to chat and bask in the afternoon sun.

“We feel free,” said Homero Cavalheri, 68 years old, a retired architect who said he no longer spends his afternoons cooped up at home. He was strolling with his wife, Irene, and their 1-year-old grandson. “Everything is new to him,” said Mr. Cavalheri, clutching the boy. “He keeps pointing at all the trees and the birds.”

The experiment in Serrana, a town in Brazil’s sugar-cane-producing savanna, provides hope for countries around the world still battling with coronavirus outbreaks that mass vaccination works. It also offers new evidence of the efficacy of Sinovac's Covid-19 vaccine, which is being rolled out in dozens of developing nations from Egypt to the Philippines.

All of Serrana’s adults were offered CoronaVac between February and April as part of the experiment, known as Project S. It is the first mass trial of its kind in which an entire town is vaccinated for Covid-19 before the rest of the country.

This is what I am wondering since some time now. How are daily wage workers and other lower economic group people going to get vaccinated?
What would be the process to get them registered and booking slots for them.
What I saw in vaccination center in Delhi was Middle and upper middle class people getting vaccinated.

vaccine ain't gonna cut it for chinese virus in india. my uncle who got both doses of covaxin is spending 40k per day for hospital room alone in a tier 2 city, this is excluding medicine and other costs. he is diabetic and on dialysis. can't even comprehend what it will cost by the time entire stay in hospital is over.

If people are dying from a lack of primary care, then this points to nothing but a criminal negligence on part of the government.

Low income status of country, inadequate health system inherited as a result of it as well as sudden of hit new variants too are a part of it. Obviously negligence of people can't be ruled out to be factor.

I'm not licking government here and being their lapdog. What I'm trying to explain you that you need to live in a real world. Governments are just administrators. They don't have magic wands and public mindset too plays a great role. In India, governments are seen as magical people responsible for victory/loss in wars to even court's rulings. India is a lowee middle income state but a large pharmaceutical producer. So, India's ability of high testing, vaccine production but inadequate health distribution are India's reality. These things aren't going to be fixed anytime soon without changing the institutions which won't no way won't bring new series of opposition and protests in India.

In India, the situation of labour which will cause outrage across our country is considered responsibility and necessary thing in countries like Bangladesh, China and Vietnam. Yet people complain of everything giving example of nations they don't know about but cry like idiots over any sensible new system.
Socialism mixed with uneducated population is a deadly combo.

At a time when the country is facing it's biggest threat since independence, would it be wise enough to go ahead with the central vista project ?
I rather see few thousands loose their jobs and money than see hundreds of thousands or millions loosing their lives.

This current wave has not even subsided and there is a danger of an even more dangerous wave on anvil.
The government should utilize all it's resources towards combating this.

It seems that you don't get the logic. You have EXPLAIN how cancelling the project will be vital in fighting pandemic in any single way instead of giving emotional rants.

India's issue isn't resources really but distribution. Indian governments have had huge bugdets, reserves since early 2000s and are capable of bailing country out even from a 1930 Great Depression like crisis.

Tracking, treating and distributing healthcare to population is a different game when lakhs of cases are emerging everyday.

As far as Central Vista is concerned, I have told before that contract had been awarded. Contractor is working now. Government won't get its money, contractor will be running to courts, workers will lose job and next time, the project will become costlier. Nothing else will happen.

Boy you do represent your username! I agree, a lot of the Covid tragedies we've seen Worldwide are preventable or at least didn't have to reach the tragic levels we're seeing Worldwide if only politicians in these countries (Philippines included) listen to medical experts and not prioritize bizarre populist politics.
