Its saying total vaccine doses given . Not total people fully vaccinated .

There is huge difference between 1st and 2nd dose numbers . Because lots of vaccination happened in the lasts 45 days only so 1st dose is very high compared to 2nd dose , Plus change in 2nd dose duration for covidshield also contributing in less 2nd dose numbers

Last 3 days average 2nd dose is around 7-8 lakhs out of 60 lakh doses .

Just check the 18-44 Chart the numbers are there it crossed 9.2 crore doses in just less than 45 days compared to 9 crore for 45-60 and 6.8 crore for 60+(their vaccination drive started good 3 months ago)

Out of 59 lakhs doses today 18-44 alone got 41.2 lakh doses and most of them all are 1st dose takers

why we saying 29 crore get vaccinated, actually 24.5 crore peoples get vaccinated. 2nd dose person remain same.

Mrna took lot of media footage but looks like this Novavax vaccine (to be made by SII) gives as much efficacy with fewer side effects.

A huge chunk of people vaccinated will not be even eligible till their second dose till August atleast. By then we would be by some predictions bang in the middle of a severe third wave. I hope Vignaharta is watching over and indulges in some as we Indians term it "Please do the needful..".

Was obvious there was something wrong, since as soon as oxygen audit was asked for, Delhi became alright within less than two days.

But the way both HC and SC judges handled this oxygen issue, needs a deeper look. they were not willing to take the word of central govt lawyers. This time we got lucky because GoI preempted almost every scenario in this crisis, but if in future there is a similar national crisis and a incompetent leadership in centre then courts can't be relied upon for realtime relief in midst of a overwhelming crisis, some other method is required.
==========
BIG: National task force set up by the SC on the oxygen crisis finds that FOUR Delhi hospitals gave exaggerated data on O2 requirements. Consumption according to Delhi Govt was shown as 1140MT but after correcting the demand by the 4 hospitals, actual consumption was only 209MT.

Whenever foreign publications report about Indian vaccination coverage, they always take into account the "fully vaccinated ".. because it shows India in a bad light, if you say, 5 percent of adults are fully vaccinated, and not say that 30 percent of adults are partially vaccinated..

Partial vaccination reduces hospitalization risk by 70 percent.. So, India is following a sound strategy..

First dose too will help in less infections & Mortality rate in 3rd wave so I don't a reason to worry in third wave.

Rest, I am inclined to think thst opposition ruled state will suffer again and will have death rate in 3rd wave given their low vaccination rates. Delhi starts & ends in 50 kms and morons cannot manage a simple Vaccine jabs to its populace instead r playing politics and killing people.... Neighbours who are 10 times bigger r doing far better...

Kejuddin will simply slip by alibi that they have no means to verify demand and they went with words of hospitals... Lol

Do we know the name of these 4 hospitals.. If they r Pvt, govt shud take them over and convert to govt one..

Even if fully vaccinated with covishield/covaxin, jury is out on its efficacy against delta plus that's already started to spread and will be the driver behind 3rd wave.

State lockdown needs to be ordered ASAP and travel banned between maharashtra and other states.

Cases are once again rising there. Centre needs to be act fast before other states are also infected.

i can speak for the state i live in ...

Karnataka recorded 1.02 lakh ‘excess’ deaths in 2021, 5 times the COVID-19 toll

"Karnataka has recorded 3,37,580 (3.37 lakh) deaths from all causes between January 1 and June 15 this year, according to its civil registration system (CRS). This is many more than the deaths recorded between January and June in pre-pandemic years. While in 2019 there were 2.35 lakh deaths in this six month period, the state saw 2.24 lakh deaths between January and June in 2018.

This means Karnataka has reported an ‘excess’ of 1,02,429 deaths between January 1 and June 15, 2021 compared to the January 1-June 30 period in 2019.
Worryingly, this number is five times the official COVID-19 death toll of 21,048 recorded for the period in the state. While not all of these ‘excess’ deaths may be due to COVID-19, a majority are likely to be, believe experts — but this has not been reflected in the state’s medical bulletins."

It was obvious from the start.

Only fools would believe the official death toll. If countries with better health infrastructure were having a difficult time in recording deaths what chances did rural India have.

Old news.

every state is doing an audit.

During lockdown municipality offices were not open to issue death certificates. once lock down eased, municipal records and hospital records are being reconciled by CMO of the district.
