Did I talk about herd immunity moron.. I pointed to the fact that seroprevalence surveys point to the fact that real infections are way higher than confirmed infections.. Is that so hard for your brain to register..
Herd immunity is a different topic altogether, and the more transmissable a variant, the more the infections needed to achieve Herd immunity in cities.

India's response to the second COVID wave dictated an exponential demand for oxygen and oxygen cylinders. Since oxygen was transported in liquid form in cryogenic tanks, quick conversion of liquid oxygen to oxygen gas and ensuring availability at the patients’ bed was a critical challenge faced by all hospitals managing COVID patients.
An Indian Army Engineers team under Maj Gen Sanjay Rihani undertook an initiative to find a solution to this challenge. A specialised task force was quickly put together for early execution of an innovation to ensure that oxygen is made available without the use of gas cylinders, thus obviating the need to refill them frequently.
Over seven days, the team of Army Engineers in-direct consultation and material support from CSIR & DRDO put together a working solution using vaporisers, PRVs and liquid oxygen cylinders. In order to ensure continuous conversion of liquid oxygen into oxygen gas at the requisite pressure and temperature at the COVID bed, the team used a self pressuring liquid oxygen cylinder of small capacity (250 litres) and processed it through a specially designed vaporiser and directly usable outlet pressure (4 Bar) with requisite leak proof pipeline and pressure valves.
A prototype with two liquid cylinders capable of feeding oxygen gas for 40 beds for a period of two to three days has been made functional at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt. The team has also tested a mobile version to cater for typical shifting requirements in hospitals. The system is economically viable and is safe to operate since it obviates high gas pressure in the pipeline or cylinders and does not require any power supply to operate. The system is capable of replication in a quick time frame.
This innovation is another example of Indian Army's commitment to promote innovations in bringing simple and practical solutions to complex problems. The Indian Army stands steadfast with the nation in this fight against Covid 19.

Do you say that the confirmed cases of around 2.5 crores mark the sum total of all covid infections in the country?
ICMR sero survey found 21 percent of adults infected.. that is 19.3 crore out of an adult Indian population of 92 crore.. Also, a high Positivity rate during the second wave suggests a high proportion of positive cases are missed..
This is not speculative, but conclusion based on data..

They casually got their antibody tests done a week or so ago, and to their utter surprise, they have got no discernible antibodies at all! Readings are like 0.2 or something, while positiveness is determined if the value is >1. Their doctor recommends getting vaccinated ASAP, as natural immunity is fickle, but GOI seems to think otherwise.

There are people who are vaccinated and still doesn't have any immunity so what guarantee they will get immunity after taking vaccination . Virus don't have universal behaviour how some get infected and don't even get fever and get cured in week and how goes all the way to death bed is purely based on individuals body and how it reacts for this couple they may not have lasting immunity even if vaccinated .

GoI goes on recommendation of ICMR which is full of medical professionals they should come up with better information and update babus in taking decisions .

It spreads the same way, both air & droplet. The exposure required is less with this variant and it gets through the immune system more easily. Mask up, double masking absolutely necessary. Two different masks, maybe a surgical as first layer and an N95 type or other as 2nd. Primarily works by minimizing any gaps that a single mask would have. Get the vaccine whenever available, even a single dose is better than none. Can't be complacent, vaccinated or not.
