Hi guys, i am from Wuhan as many old members knew it. I had my spring festival holiday in Europe now, just last flight with Air France from Wuhan to Paris before the city lockdown.
Some clarification here i wanna share with members here:
1. the situation inside the town is not that scary as news decribed, they are 1700 infected cases but less than 100 death and most dead people are old. It is not the deadly case even by WHO evaluation, since the death rate is 3!%, even lower rate than flu currently happening USA. But Wuhan has 12 million people inside, and city lockdown is first ever happened in human history.
2. City lockdown is not about the government wanna try to hide anything, but this spring festivalt is the best timing for asking people stay at home to stop spreading virus. If you check even D.Trump's Twitter:
China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!
The New York time comment the city lockdown is over react and violating human right, but i think the government made rite choice even people inside town can't move since government stop the subway system and not allow personal cars on roads.
3. Wuhan is the "richest" city in the middle of CHINA. The per gdp is around $25000 by 2019. Generally, the city has good health care system and infrastructure among CHINA. People all were panic at the beginning, and people got fever and then rush to the hospitals, that's why in the beginning the hospitals were full of fever patients now the situatuon is getting clam...
4. I personally think the crisis will be under control within 1 month. I don't like ccp, but still i think the ccp has unique power to control such kind of public crisis than any other regime.
