if you recall, US UK were making blind bets to secure doses without waiting for trial results. they bet on many vaccines.

in may last year our entire focus was on :
-coming out of lock downs,
-building labs,
-test kits,
-ppe,
-HCQ,
-ventilators,
-sanitisers,
-testing,
-isolation,
-treatment,
-migrant workers,
-rations during lockdowns,
-PLA on LAC,
-DBT money for people
-containment zones,
-Tabligi were spitting on nurses

and whatever nonsense news media was throwing at people.

scale and scope of complexity of UK and India were entirely at a different level.
GOI did a fantastic job during the first wave.. to steer the country with its ramshackle health care system is no mean feat.. All, it can be accused of is taking eye off the ball in case of the second wave.. But, knowing how Modi Gov. Operates.. I don't expect any oxygen demand mayhem, even if a third wave of the same size hits us.. ( That's a big if.. as alarms will be triggered much sooner, if a third wave starts building).

Amazing on odd day pull number of people vaccinated and even day pull % which ever suits our skulduggery we will pull that

please also mention the population of

USA 33 core 36 % vaccinated
UK 6 crore 29 %
India 138 crore 2 % vaccinated

By the way there is one more country who has done better than all with 92% vaccination just that its overall population is 98k its called seychelles

Even with all the so called delay in starting vaccination with absolute number of doses given and also fully vaccinated we are still in the top 3 numbers

You should compare apple to apples not with watermelon . Like one given apple to eat and other given watermelon to eat and then apple guy jumping in celebration saying i had finished eating it faster .

Fully vaccinated.jpg

covid doses.jpg

Swarajya doing mental gymnastics

% fully vaccinated

US 36.2 %
UK 29 %
India 2 %

Should have given that 4300 crore credit to SII and BB back in january itself or in 2020,

Not wait until April , last month.

Dr Harsh Vardhan tweets advice to detect, manage Black Fungus

Union minister of health and family welfare, science & technology and earth sciences Dr Harsh Vardhan advised people on the early detection and management of Mucormycosis - commonly known as Black Fungus. He took to twitter to advice people on black fungus, its symptoms and required action once someone contracts the infection.

“Mucormycosis or ‘black fungus' has been observed in a number of COVID-19 patients recently. Awareness & early diagnosis can help curb the spread of the fungal infection. Black Fungus is a rare but serious condition that has been reported in a number of coronavirus patients”, said minister in a tweet on Friday. He shared four slides on the fungus, symptoms and required action once someone contracts the infection.

Mucormycosis has become a talked about subject after a few recovering and recovered COVID-19 patients were found infected with the fungus. Here are the frequently asked questions (FAQ’s) on the disease that were addressed by the Dr Harsh Vardhan:

What is Mucormycosis?

Mucormycosis is a fungal infection mainly affecting people with medical health problems that reduces their ability to fight environmental pathogens. People catch mucormycosis by coming in contact with the fungal spores in the environment. It can also develop on the skin after the fungus enters the skin through a cut, scrape, burn, or other type of skin trauma.

How can a patient contract the infection?

People having co-morbities, variconazole therapy, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, immunosuppression by steroids or prolonged ICU stay can get predisposed to the fungal infection.

What are the symptoms of Mucormycosis?

Pain or redness around the eyes, fever, headache, coughing, shortness of breath, bloody vomit and altered mental status are possible symptoms of the infection, minister added.

Do’s and Don’ts

"Don't consider all cases of blocked nose as cases of bacterial sinusitis, especially in the cases of immunosuppression and/ or COVID-19 patients on immunomodulators," minister advised in his tweet.

10,000 Packets Of DRDO's Anti-Covid Oral Drug To Be Distributed Tomorrow

10,000 Packets Of DRDO's Anti-Covid Oral Drug To Be Distributed Tomorrow

The 2-G drug had shown promising results in its phase 2 and phase 3 clinical trials.
New Delhi:
An anti-coronavirus drug developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will be launched tomorrow, with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh distributing around 10,000 doses to some hospitals in the national capital.
The drug, called 2-deoxy-D-glucose or 2-DG, was developed by a DRDO lab in collaboration with the Hyderabad-based pharma giant, Dr Reddy's Laboratories. Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), the country's top drug regulator, has approved the medicine for emergency use.

Not only did western nations fund covishield , SII got close to a 900 million from them for capacity

How much did India pay ? , i cant any source for either orders or funds earlier than january and that too only for 11 million doses.

That article is simply putting a "good spin" on India being a late cheapskate.

We should have secured more orders , much earlier than january.

OK. The fall of the 2nd wave seems way too rapid. Not complaining though:-

Today's cases (Gujarat, Chhattisgarh Assam, Jharkhand data awaited)
2,59,999 daily new cases (might rise to 2,80,000 new cases at most today)
3,36,056 recoveries
3689 deceased

Yesterday it was ~3,10,000 new cases, hovered around 3,50,000 new cases for a few days before that. And was above 4,00,000 cases for a few days before that. Hopefully this decline continues.

Again one more thread offcourse its written by BJP MLA that doesn't make it unworthy . People questioning govt lethargic in vaccine orders or securing doses

In this thread you will see PM visited hyderabad pune and ahmedabad last year

(he visited three facilities , SII , BB and Zydus , why would he visit to Zydus when its vaccine is not even in 3rd phase of clinical trails ? if he was so complacent in relying on only 2 vaccine manufacturers . On his hyderabad visit he also meet Biological E team . so make that as 4 vaccine manufacturers visit ).

A task force was constituted in April 2020, which immediately set upon the task of providing the support/framework to any poosible vaccine rollouts in future.... REMEMBER- THIS WAS ONE YEAR BACK . Read the quoted tweet and you will know what was happening behind the scenes ...

On sunday testing is always low so don't take those numbers wait till numbers of wednesday that is when we will know the data of first two days of week when testing is in normal levels , Yesterday PM in his meeting asked states to report numbers as it is and not do any under reporting . I feel he is not even confident with rapid decrease in numbers in most states suddenly in a week time , Especially delhi numbers going from 20k to straight 6k in 10 days time .

may be if the money was paid, and vaccine trials failed, it would have been called as scam. that too to a billionaire who goes to office in a rolls royce.

These are tough choices, nature of pandemic is such that there is no right answer.

i suspect, story chinese virus story not over in US and UK, let's wait till dec-jan for US to find out how much of their vaccine strategy has actually worked.

i am looking at how long does vaccine actually protects from the virus? thought came to me because they are now talking about booster shots.

Efficacy of the SII Covishield vaccine was proved by DCGI as of Jan 3. Refer tweet by Adaar Poonawala:-

Why did GOI not pre order vaccines prior to DCGI approval for efficacy ?

Maybe they were following the due process of "let DCGI approval come" & then order be placed, lest they be accused of participating in a scam.

Now we can opine anything because of hindsight.

Funny right AP says in June 2020 that SII secured billion vaccine annually deal with Astra under GAVI . Why didn't he produce vaccines for them at least considering he got all investments from them as per people here . What stopped him from fulfilling export order with his 6 crore a month capacity ? before january everyone produced a limited quantity to be on safer side if EUA never comes .

There are morons even today running hit job online on BB asking them to release clinical phase 3 data and bla bla . Imagine govt giving go ahead for vaccination before some sort of clarity they would be hounded by all these so called health presstitutes and leftshit rags

Few days ago i participated in Spaces discussion where one doctor said how USA allowed pregnant women to take the vaccine without even giving approval and why India is not giving approval to vaccinate women , He said we can't take such risk like USA when our entire vaccine drive runs on narratives build by political parties and media

Allowing someone to take vaccine is not same as approving the vaccine for administration

The descendents of the H1N1 Spanish flu virus still cause significant fatalities each year in the US.. a 100 years after the pandemic.. although they have become less virulent. It is strange that India as the country most impacted by the Spanish flu, never had to face endemic influenza like the US faces each year..
So, we can expect SARS-COV-2 and its descendents to be with us for a long time to come..

AAP did nautanki.. got excess Oxygen.. now more nautanki for free vaccines from Centre.. Their antics are similar to what I used to do, when I was 4 years old.. I used cry loudly, roll on the road, until father got me Cadbury's gems.. Looks like PAAP expects expects everyone but itself to foot the bill for vaccines

Weird article ,

Tamil Nadu hasnt explicitly kept out Chinese vaccine makers , but bid requires vaccine to have Drugs Controller General of India approval.

Have we given chinese vaccines approval ?

--------------

Chinese have so far given out 324 million doses , they claim to have exported another 100 million

i think our numbers are half that.

i dont who maybe GOI , or that rat Poonawalla, , but someone fucked up our vaccine production.
