Gujarat Home Minister Pradipsinh Jadeja has refuted allegations that official Covid-19 related deaths in the state are lower than actual deaths. He said that it is incorrect to speculate Covid-19 deaths in the state on the basis of death certificates issued.

Pradipsinh Jadeja said that death registration and certificates have gone online in Gujarat. When a person dies, the death certificate is required for insurance, bank and related reasons and hence, some people register it online. Since the system is still being developed, the possibility of multiple deaths certificates for the same person cannot be ruled out.

In such a case, there would be a discrepancy between death certificates issued and total deaths. He also mentioned that the data was compared to a 71-day period of 2020 when India was under a nationwide lockdown and hence death certificates and registration were allowed to be filed late up to 31st July 2020.

Times of India had reported that the state had recorded 3.74 lakh deaths in 2020 between January and November, at an average of 1,134 deaths daily, which was 10.8% less than all deaths in 2019. In 2019, 1,271 occurred every day on an average.

During the 71-day period mentioned this year, 1.23 lakh died which amounts to an average of roughly 1732 deaths every day, an increase of 36% from the average daily death figure of 2019 for the entire year. However, this is not a month wise calculation based on 2019 figures and that average may fall by the end of 2021. Furthermore, the increase in population will have to factored in apart from other factors as well.

(Death toll will be higher that what has been officially communicated but not in numbers mentioned in these reports, IMO)

A lot of death happening at home is not reported as covid .
plus many wanted to give those deceased proper burial and is hiding it from authorities.
Also Gujarat is following the Russia model, of declaring covid deaths with Co morbidity, as non covid death, while ICMR and most western countries, follow the rule that any death of a covid positive patient be treated as a covid death

lost a very dear friend of 15 years to virus today... Fuck you China and Wuhan...

My hatred for china and CCP will be life long and nothing in this world will be able to change it...absolutely nothing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope he rests in peace....normal healthy guy other wise?
I hate the modern system, there was a time when men used to think dying in bed or at home is the worst death one can ask for....die in war or doing something noble was the goal....long life means pretty much shitty experiences these days

Does it matter? No reliable answer either way without detailed and exhaustive autopsy which is practically impossible now. I would attribute to covid, if other normal person precovid died by being bat positive

Why the heck is this fauci guy even in Indian TV channels? he is a federal government employee of United States of America. Indian Scientists sitting in India are having a hard time figuring out the prognosis of Chinese virus, what would this guy know about India. from what I see, his answers are very generic
and these idiots are taking advice from a guy who probably came up with the concept of โ€œAmericans first on vaccination, to hell with rest of the worldโ€.

Talking to someone in UN/WHO is very different from talking to a US govt employee.

if in future it turns out that fauci is directly responsible with Chinese virus/Wuhan lab, will these news media idiots fire everybody responsible for coming up with the idea of interviewing fauci?

You are correct but Fauci isn't a noob either. He is co-author of one of the best selling internal medicine book/ manual.
Indian media channels started the 'all/pan India' lockdown cacophony once Fauci voiced it in some platform. So this interview.
Yes it is difficult to speak about specifics without being in ground in India and not knowing how our people are responding to certain kind of treatment regimen. He ( Fauci) too knows it and therefore as you said it, he was generic with his answers.

Indian news channels were eyeing for any comments on policy decisions that they can drum about like the ' pan India' lockdown one.

Only suggestion is that, Dr. Fauci should invest his time convincing the anti-vaxxers in USA rather than getting interviewed by Indian media.

That said, I would rather like Fauci being interviewed rather than Tredous from WHO.

Asinet rectums are not committing such blunder for the first time. The sheer hatred against GoI makes them go blind.

Well.. Once the hospital seals the body in the bag, noone is allowed to open or take it out. Its sort of double bagging with chems and all I suppose.
bathing the body and all is not allowed by the covid protocol set by GoI.
The body is identified and claimed by the surviving members , the paper works are done. From hospital the remains are not even allowed to be taken home.
Then with volunteers its taken straight to burial ground or cremated...There they can do the minimal prayers and things.
Only 5 members are allowed in the burial/cremation place. (At least in places where they follow protocols)
Its hard for the family as they cant even see them one last time.

This is all I know.

They had transparent plastic around the face, when an acquaintance of mine died of covid last year.. So, his son could see his face before the cremation..
