Punjab will get Chinese Sinopharm... Thats the only vaccine available at scale for quick delivery.. It is not upto Congress to choose Sinopharm.. Once WHO approves Sinopharm, Punjab will most likely receive Sinopharm.. Also, it is about saving lives.. If India can buy 25000 oxygen concentrators from China, why not chinese vaccines..? This will also serve to hit Modi's image and his effort to portray India as counter weight to China.. and all that Modi Vaccine diplomacy jazz.. So, Congress would love this..
But, anyway, Modi wanted to share the blame of vaccine scarcity by putting the onus of procurement of vaccines for 18 - 45 age group, on the states.. This, in a seller's market where even countries like Australia will only get substantial deliveries towards the end of the year.. So, no Indian state will get Pfizer, Moderna or even substantial sputnik vaccines imported ( limited Russian manufacturering capacity) this year.. Modi knew that.. So, what remains.. Chinese vaccines
Let second wave subside and wait 1 more month... BB is ramping up prod in big way... same for poonawala also.. he got the money to ramp up.. moreover Zydus too in fray with their vaccine... zydus have good prod capacity.. my friend is their plant manager so i know via him.....along with sputnik.. we don't need sinovac / PFIZER / Moderna et all... Perhaps amrinder is posturing sinovac for some other motive...

And i think still centre holds the veto power... so if modi do not want.. he can refuse permission and let them cry hoarse for all they want...

Based on news articles and librandu outrage, we can safely assume that it is true. They are not going to mention clearly as they have to live in ultra woke USA. Sewa Bharati India clearly mentions their affiliation with RSS.

There is also, Vishwa Hindu Parishad USA , which is also working for covid relief.
This is the consignment they sent:
Will consider it next time. This time I worked privately as its not clear if it was trustworthy. It was too much costly sending equipment privately though o_O

Pfizer had asked for 35 dollars per shot from India, that's more than 5000 rupees for a two dose regime.. How many states will be able to afford ? I don't see these international tendors making much headway in case of many states.. Once the second wave subsides many of these state tendors to international manufacturers will bite dust.. and they will only buy from domestic producers..
UP might proceed.. as it would help their cause in next year's elections..
Pfizer vax is like german cars. Everybody lusts em but few can afford em.

For the rest of us there are the marutis.

Delhi HC slams ‘irritating’ vaccine dialer tune
“You have been playing that one irritating message on the phone whenever one makes a call, for we do not know how long, that you (people) should get vaccinated, when you (Centre) don’t have enough vaccines.

And one of the German car brand was using innovative technology to commit emissions fraud. Just saying.
Your similitude is not apt.
And german cars bankrupt you when things go south.... same case i suspect with the ‘deep freeze’ vax

200,000 additional doses of Sputnik V arriving today. These doses, plus the 150,000 from the initial batch, will be available from next week.
But which centers will give these?
and will these be sold directly to States or hospitals?

Pfizer's vaccine is snake oil, and they're actively evading bridging trials in India because they know they're selling snake oil. Even Sputnik V went through these trials, passed, and are on their way to being distributed.

You'd rather take Patanjali's Coronil solution intravenously than Pfizer's goop.

Dr Reddy's Labs is the authorized importer, which is why all these Russian-made doses are arriving in Hyderabad so far. Dr. Reddy's Labs will open sales next week, and then anyone (i.e. states, centre, private hospital, etc.,) can buy them. It's importing more doses.

Exclusive: After hiking prices, China now sending sub-standard oxygen concentrators to India

India Today has accessed documents and photographic proof to show how the companies have not only jacked up prices but also altered specifications and components used in making the oxygen concentrators for India, compromising on the quality and life cycle of the machine, which could lead to a medical catastrophe in India.

Different companies are quoting separate prices for the 5-litre and 10-litre concentrators. While the rates vary, most show an increase in the cost in the past weeks. This even as Beijing has been trying to portray the exports as a “humanitarian” gesture.

china and humanitarian gesture.
