5 of my relatives (who don't live with us), are positive with extreme symptoms (<88 SpO2). The worst part is we can't even go help them. All members from one of my cousins' family tested positive, one with extreme symptoms. They live in another city, and there's nobody to help them there.

This crisis is breaking the concept of extended family as we know it.

He said situation is so grim that , he sees atleast 1 or 2 dead bodies being taken from society everyday for last few weeks.

I feel there is a concerted and really sinister effort to show a very dire situation in India and then put the whole blame on Modi and GOI. All by the same people who swayed people continuously against vaccines, urged them to protest through a raging pandemic and were anti lockdown from day 1. The sad part is that their modus operandi seems to be working and now with the international cabal coming to support as well.

we need strong media rules against those spreading misinformation and penalties for the damages caused to the nation.
May be we have such rules..but GoI should exercise that rules.
Every fuckup including natural disasters on humanity/society is a political opportunity against Modi ji and GoI for the vultures

Yesterday I took my car to drive around in the neighborhood (because I hadn't started it in like 3 weeks and feared its battery would die). We live in central Hyderabad (the famous Hussain Sagar lake is a 5-minute walk), but this is a densely populated area. Even within my own locality, in the 25-odd minute drive, I legit counted at least 15 ambulances rushing by, and 5-6 "final journey" vehicles. These are like Hindu hearses, open-air saffron-painted vehicles with loudspeakers that play Lord Shiva's bhajans, taking bodies to the nearest Shamshanghat in a place called Bansilalpet (some 10 minutes drive from here).

At like 10 PM, we go to our building's terrace for some quiet time, and the ambient urban noise is filled with ambulance sirens and those ominous bhajans.

I have seen those vehicles when I lived in gujarat.
I once said to a friend , that this vehicle looks very beautiful , he looked and then laughed at me , then described their original purpose.
It's depressing , but every generation has its crises , we shall overcome this too

Even after all these..you can see many people walking around without masks in Bangalore despite the strict lockdown and instructions .
well...they got someone to blame..and they have SM to vent on when things go south.

Whatever the mark up.. the fact remains that China has supplied more medical equipment to India, than any nation. Yes, they sell it for money..But, money in the time of pandemic is secondary.. They also supplied billions of masks and also medical equipment to US during the last surge.. It is only China and their astounding manufacturing capacity that can meet such demand.. Lets acknowledge that..
