Chinese airline suspends flights bringing medical supplies to India
China's state-run Sichuan Airlines has suspended all its cargo flights to India for 15 days, causing major disruption to private traders' efforts to procure the much-needed oxygen concentrators and other medical supplies from the country despite Beijing reiterating its readiness to help India to deal with the latest surge of COVID-19 cases.

"China has been following closely the epidemic situation in India and expressed readiness early on to help curb the latest surge," foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told a media briefing here on Monday while answering questions, including the suspension of cargo flights by the Sichuan Airlines.
"At present, the two sides are communicating with one another," he said in the official transcript of comments posted on the foreign ministry's website.

He, however, did not confirm a tweet by the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka stating that China began to supply oxygen concentrators to India.
"800 Oxygen Concentrators have been airlifted today from #HongKong to #Delhi; 10,000 more in a week. #China is keeping in touch with #India for urgent needs,” said a tweet put out by the Chinese Embassy in Colombo.

Asked for his reaction to the tweet, Wang said, "China is ready to provide necessary support and help to India in its fight against the new wave of infections. If India raises any specific demand, we will offer support and help to the best of our capability".
About Chinese manufacturers hiking prices of the medical supplies to India, he said, "As far as I know, that's normal business interaction. We stand ready to offer support and assistance to the best of our capability if the Indian side informs us of its specific needs."
Chinese Ambassador to India Sun Weidong in a tweet said his country "firmly supports" India in fighting against COVID19. "We will encourage and guide Chinese companies to actively participate into the cooperation in facilitating various needed medical supplies for India," he tweeted.
To a question that members of the Quadrilateral alliance consisting of the US, India, Australia and Japan not rushing help to India, Wang said, "on this issue, countries should work together".
"We hope that all countries can stand-in solidarity to fight against the virus, the common enemy of mankind,” he said.
"You mentioned some activities carried out by certain countries within the relevant framework, we hope that they will also follow such principles and spirit, and jointly provide support and assistance to India and those in need within their capabilities," Wang said.
Wang declined to react to China's state-run airline, Sichuan Airlines, decision to suspend its cargo flights to several destinations to India which was expected to seriously cause disruptions to private traders' efforts to procure oxygen concentrators badly needed in India.
"As for the operation of the specific flights of the airlines you mentioned, I suggest you check with the company concerned," he said.
In a letter to the sales agents on Monday, the Sichuan Chuanhang Logistics Co Ltd, the company which is part of the Sichuan Airlines, said the airline has suspended its cargo flights on six routes, including Xian to Delhi, amid hectic efforts by private traders from both sides to procure oxygen concentrators from China.
In the letter, the company said, "In the face of sudden changes in the epidemic situation (in India), in order to reduce the number of imported cases, it is decided" to suspend the flights for the next 15 days.
It also said the company will review the situation after 15 days.
The suspension of cargo flights came as a surprise to agents and freight forwarders who are frantically trying to procure the oxygen concentrators from China.
There are also complaints of Chinese manufacturers jacking up the prices by 35 to 40 per cent. The freight charges have been increased to over 20 per cent, said Siddharth Sinha of Sino Global Logistics, a Shanghai-based freight forwarding company.
He said that the Sichuan Airlines decision to cancel flights has caused severe disruption to attempts by private traders in both the countries to secure quick supplies of the Oxygen concentrators to rush to India in view of the dire situation.
Now it becomes very challenging to rush the supplies as they have to be rerouted through Singapore and other countries through different airlines, which delays the much-needed supplies, he said.
The suspension of the flights owing to the coronavirus situation in India is surprising as there is no crew change in India and the same crew flies the aircraft back, he said.
There are also virtually no Indians travelling to China from India other than diplomats as China has suspended visas for Indians since November and flights remained banned.
India is struggling with a second wave of the pandemic with more than 3,00,000 daily new coronavirus cases being reported in the past few days, and hospitals in several states are reeling under a shortage of medical oxygen and beds.
The Chinese cargo flights besides the shipping services have been operational throughout the pandemic rushing supplies of lucrative mobile phone equipment as well as a lot of other Chinese exports to India.

Sinha said the Chinese suppliers also resorted to "inhuman" practice of heavy jacking up of prices to cash in on the pandemic emergency.
The suspension of cargo flights also came as a surprise to the Indian officials here as it came in the backdrop of official statements offering support and assistance to India.

I managed to register. Fruitless I say because I stay in Maharashtra, and unless I am willing to undertake a "vaccination trip" to Gujarat, Karnataka or Goa, there is no way to get a vaccine here till the end of May as confirmed by the Health Minister for Vasooli Gang, Rajesh Tope.

Yup, I see hospitals, sorted by district, including private ones, but they didn't update age limits on their end.

Have some patient man, that will also get updated. Give them time till 1st May.

Sichuan Airlines discusses new plan to resume cargo services to India
By Global TimesPublished: Apr 26, 2021 10:44 PM

A logistics arm under Sichuan Airlines said that it is discussing a new plan to resume cargo services to India, as the country has been going through a COVID-19 resurgence.

The response came after Indian media reported that Sichuan Airlines had suspended all its cargo flights to India for 15 days, and said that such a move brings "major disruption" to private traders' efforts to buy medical supplies, including oxygen concentrators, from China.

"We are re-evaluating the original plan of suspending cargo services to India, and actively discussing a new plan to guarantee cargo services to the region," the company said in a reply sent to the Global Times on Monday.

The company said the reason why it suspended cargo flights to India was the recent sudden change in COVID-19 cases in India.

It is reasonable for airlines to suspend services due to the sudden increase of COVID-19 cases in the country, and the original epidemic prevention standards cannot be used to operate international flights, Qi Qi, a market watcher, told the Global Times on Monday.

But he said that it is necessary for the airlines to transport emergency anti-epidemic supplies for humanitarian reasons, and hopes that the carrier will resume cargo transport between the two countries.

Market watchers said that the move may be connected to the case of an international cargo flight pilot, who was diagnosed as an imported case in December, as the company hopes to avoid risks.

At that time, the Civil Aviation Administration of China set up a special investigation team for the matter, and stated that it would further strengthen supervision. It urged airlines to strengthen their main responsibility in epidemic prevention, and resolutely block the epidemic from passing through air channels.

Established in 1986, Sichuan Airlines served more than 300 routes in China and abroad before the epidemic.

But the cargo business is not a big one compared with its passenger transport, not to mention the business to India, Qi told the Global Times.

Sichuan Airlines usually has two regular flights from the Chinese mainland to India, including 3U8299 from Chengdu in Southwest China's Sichuan province to Chennai, and 3U8227 from Xi'an in Northwest China's Shaanxi Province to Delhi, but neither flight had taken off on Monday as of 5pm, according to information provider Variflight.com.

Even if there are some suspension of the cargo transport between China and India, other cargo service is still in normal, and market watchers said Chinese airlines have sufficient capacity to meet the urgent needs between the two countries.

From April 1 to April 25, the number of cargo flights from the Chinese mainland to India averaged five per day, including carried by Sichuan Airlines and SF Airlines, according to Variflight.com.

A source told the Global Times that so far the cargo service of SF Airlines is normal.

China will encourage and guide Chinese enterprises to actively cooperate, provide convenience for India to purchase all kinds of necessary anti-COVID-19 materials, and provide India with necessary support and assistance, according to the Chinese Embassy in India on Monday.

China had expressed willingness to help India to fight a resurgence of COVID-19, and the medical supplies provided by Chinese companies are normal business deals, Wang Wenbin, a spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said on Monday.

India has been going through a wave of COVID-19 resurgence, exacerbated by double-mutant variants. According to Indian health authorities, India's daily new cases reached a new record on Sunday with 352,911 cases.

Chinese medical suppliers are receiving growing orders from India. According to media reports, Jiangsu Yuyue Medical Equipment, a major medical company in the country, told domestic media that it received about 18,000 orders for oxygen machines from Indian side in recent days.

The highly infectious COVID-19 mutant in India has led to several countries in the past few days barring or restricting travelers from the country, including the UK, UAE, Canada and Kuwait, according to timesofindia.com on Monday.

The above article is from Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda outlet. Also, planning to resume flights means that currently flights are not taking place to India, thus stopping the supply of Covid related essential supplies. It's just CCP showing its true colors again; making friendly statements while stopping essential Covid related supplies from reaching India.

China Suspends Cargo Flights to COVID-19 Stricken India, Disrupting Shipment of Medical Supplies, While Promising to ‘Help’
India is experiencing a massive COVID-19 surge with more than 300,000 confirmed cases daily in the past week. Following democratic countries, the Chinese communist regime promised to help India, however, Indian media reported that a major Chinese state-run airline has suspended all cargo flights to India that are needed to bring in medical supplies, and Chinese manufacturers of medical supplies have raised prices.

In recent days, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union have reached out to India to provide urgent assistance. The Biden administration promised to immediately provide India with the raw materials needed to produce vaccines, medical supplies, and protective equipment.

The Chinese government also promised to provide India with assistance and support. On April 26, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying tweeted, “We’re concerned about the grave situation in India. We’re ready to be of help if India tells us its specific needs.”

However, according to a Times of India report on April 26, Chinese state-run Sichuan Airlines had suspended all cargo flights to India for 15 days. It seriously affected the ability of locals to obtain oxygen concentrators and other urgently needed medical equipment from China.

In addition, traders also complained that Chinese manufacturers have increased the price of medical supplies by 35–40 percent, and the freight charges have also increased by more than 20 percent, according to the report.

At the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s routine press conference on April 26, a reporter from the Indian Broadcasting Corporation asked the ministry’s spokesperson Wang Wenbin about the suspension: “You said last week that China and India are communicating on China’s provision of medical supplies to India. At the same time, Indian companies are also purchasing medical supplies from China to meet India’s needs in response to the epidemic. But today, China’s Sichuan Airlines suspended its cargo operations to India, which prevented India from purchasing urgently needed items at this critical moment.”

Wang replied by repeating that China would provide assistance and said that the Indian companies’ urgent purchase of medical supplies from China “is a normal purchasing behavior among companies.” And he suggested the Indian reporter check with relevant airlines about the operation of specific flights.

At present, more than a dozen countries have suspended flights to India, but the ban does not include cargo flights or planes carrying medical personnel. On the contrary, countries such as the United Kingdom are actively dispatching flights loaded with medical supplies to India. A flight from the UK carrying ventilators and oxygen concentrators landed in Delhi on April 27.

Regarding China’s promise to help India, U.S. columnist and China expert Gordon Chang replied on Twitter by asking China to reveal how the COVID-19 started.
Thank you, #China. You can help #India—and the rest of the world—if you tell us all you know about how #COVID19 started. #coronavirus #WuhanLab https://t.co/EZ7Es5T4nx
— Gordon G. Chang (@GordonGChang) April 26, 2021
The COVID-19 pandemic that started in China’s Wuhan city last November has claimed 3.13 million lives worldwide, but so far the Chinese communist regime has not provided the original data on the virus, which has been criticized by many people around the world.

On April 22, a group of U.S. senators proposed a bill that would require President Joe Biden to declassify intelligence on the P4 lab, the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which is suspected of leaking the virus.

Looks like UP police has normalized the use of "toolkit" in bad way. Good.

The UP Police today took to Twitter to inform that the torrent of tweets regarding the death of a Ghaziabad girl were all fake.

Recently, multiple tweets had gone viral wherein it was claimed that a girl broke her piggy bank and donated Rs 5,000 to the PM CARES fund but she died because she did not get oxygen.

1 Lakh Portable Oxygen Concentrators to be procured from PM CARES fund

500 more PSA oxygen plants, based on technology developed by DRDO, sanctioned under PM CARES

The Oxygen Concentrators & PSA Plants will greatly augment the supply of oxygen near the demand clusters

Posted On: 28 APR 2021 4:32PM by PIB Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sanctioned the procurement of 1 Lakh Portable Oxygen Concentrators from the PM Cares Fund

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to discuss the measures needed to improve Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) Supply for COVID management. PM instructed that these Oxygen Concentrators should be procured at the earliest & provided in states with high case burden.

In addition to the earlier sanctioned 713 PSA plants under PM Cares Fund, 500 new Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants have been sanctioned under PM CARES Fund.

The PSA plants will augment the supply of Liquid Medical Oxygen at hospitals in district headquarters and Tier 2 cities. These 500 PSA plants will be established with transfer of the indigenous technology developed by DRDO and CSIR to the domestic manufacturers.

Establishing PSA plants and procurement of portable oxygen concentrators will greatly augment the supply of oxygen near the demand clusters, thereby addressing the current logistical challenges in transporting oxygen from plants to hospitals
