I’m not going to waste any more time on this thread. This is a problem for you Indians. In addition, starting next week, "10,000 Make in China breathing machines" will be shipped to India one after another.

I hope you Indians can tide over the difficulties.
The tone of this chink is as if he is donating those ventilators to us lol.

Probably people are hoarding the cylinder?
Quite possible, but more problematic is scarcity of empty cylinders as its natural to discard old cylinders after XYZ numbers of refilling, but the void is now black hole as state government did not procure any new cylinders post 2015 ( may be some in 2020 in urgent basis). So quite obviously now we have a massive shortage of available refillable cylinders thanks to hoarders, black marketers and Didi0didi.

perhaps India needs to start thinking in lines of keeping strategic reserves for critical medical equipment as well, till the Chinese virus subsides across the world.

on the lines of strategic petroleum reserves.

For the benefit of people here who are not on twitter . Sharing the entire quotes . Just read again and again the highlighted sentences and connect them with what is happening right now with coverage of covid in media . You will see the sheer hatred from our colonial masters .

In November, the
@nytimes
published an article about efforts in Asia to fight back COVID. They mentioned specifically 3 countries (Hong Kong, Korea and Japan) and outlined long histories of policy implementation by health officials in these nations trying to combat infections

In the article, an epidemiologist from Hong Kong university is interviewed, an infectious disease specialist at Korea university in seoul is quoted, and there is a direct statement from the president of the Japan medical association. (this is important)

The strategies of local officials and leaders are outlined and nuance is applied to the successes and failures that officials in #hongkong #southkorea and #japan face in fighting back this deadly disease.

The pictures in the article are of people wearing masks on public transport and one photo features a thermometer at the door of a business. The authors of this article are people who live and work in the countries they are reporting on. This is good journalism.

In contrast, the
@nytimes
's article about COVID in Africa (The CONTINENT) features the following experts: a professor at New York University, a local registrar in a town in Nigeria, next the owner of a local funeral parlor from the same town in Nigeria....

The next expert is a director of international org. Doctors Without Borders who is the voice behind the article’s only acknowledgement of African policies that curbed the spread of covid, his input is quickly discarded for the more exciting news about secret outbreaks in Sudan

And quickly we are assaulted with a comment from a researcher at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine whose “toes curl” when anybody implies African nations have been spared.

The first photo in the African article features a corpse wrapped in plastic, then later in the article a picture of a casket. While thousands more died in Asia from covid, the article I opened with about SKorea, Hong Kong and Japan, features 0 corpses.

The
@nytimes
, like countless others in Western media, has a tradition of "journalism" which takes place in an Africa without leaders, without public health officials or activists. It takes place in a vacuum of knowledge and strategy. Africa has no thinkers or planners

In Western Media, Africa has no epidemiologists, infectious disease specialists, no academics, no local journalists or medical associations are quoted. Just a vast maw of African horror witnessed only by the brave souls at the UN and the Africa bureaus of western papers.

It is well documented that Western media love negative coverage when discussing Africa. A study once found that in a 40 year period of reporting on African issues, the New York Times, an average of 73% articles provided decidedly negative images of Africa. This has consequences

The New York times is very influential, and is often what papers all over the world reference when writing on foreign events in general. Moreover, the NYT has demonstrable influence on direct action that governments take in response to disasters and other crises.

Appearing in the New York times corresponded to an additional $52,000 per article towards humanitarian aid for victims of the 2004 Tsunami in South Asia, for example. Think of the direct actions taken in foreign nations &their support from the Western public. #manufacturedconsent

Thus it becomes clear that there is at least one industry invested in the repeated emphasis of disaster in Africa, and moreover in the idea of Africans being ill-prepared and in need of rescuing.

An article that cites African leaders, individual nations or any experts from local universities would make NGOs obsolete, or at least bring into question the massive amount of aid being funneled “to Africa” via international aid agencies.

There are thousands of foreign NGOs in Africa and there's money to be made and soft power to be expanded. And such a scheme does not go well with input from the hundreds of universities on the continent, 50+ ministries of health, numerous government bodies and so on.

Western writes who insist on portraying Africa as a place of failure and no leadership, participate in the White Savior Industrial complex all other manner of systems that keep nations from the Global North in positions of dominance over their “former colonies.”

COVID coverage in Africa ignores reality to instead reach for any other explanation that squares with a continent devoid of brains. Most writers lean on vague ideas about “genetics” and “immunity.” It smacks of “the tenacious physical traits of the negroid race” style thinking.

I cannot think of any other way to explain a decided refusal to acknowledge the actions of nations like my native Botswana which, through strict lockdown measures instituted as early as February 2020, managed to keep COVID deaths to 45 by January 2021.

It appears even as its own healthcare system is brought to its knees & exposed as a hollowed out shell of its former self, America’s media need a world where Africa can produce no solutions, can give no knowledge and is devoid of the power to positively influence the world

This has been the hidden fact behind the lack of many covid photos here and the defense that it's about consent. It exposes who is accepted as a human being with dignity and who isn't. They were waiting, questioning, and frustrated that Africa didn't have a catastrophe with Covid

And that's not to let the governments off the hook because the virus is killing a lot of people and they're helping it, but Western media REALLY wanted it to be bad in the continent so they can take photos of the dead and point and say "look at those uncivilized savages dying"

I keep saying that there's a pleasure that people get from the suffering of others. People in the West like to see dead Africans. It reaffirms their idea of Africans as uncivilised. When those tragedies don't exist, they invent them or try really hard to.

Did they push that probe really deep in your rear side that you are confusing buying ( that too at a premium) to that of aid?

Keep aid ready for your flea infested pet dog who is going to see a severe scarcity of medical oxygen in near future in not facing already.

This Haramkor is a parasite. He is just building his party with the money supposed to be used for welfare.

The list and numbers will be never ending. Also medical equipments require storage and quality control infrastructure.

With Modi care working very well, the private sector growth backed by medical insurance is long term solution. With as many as 13 AIIMS in line the situation will improve.

In a nutshell decentralised approach is required.

Is there someone , in the know how, who could answer the below queries:-

1) How frequent are mutations for viruses that cause common cold?
2) Are mutations that are occurring in novel corona virus happening at same rate as above (common cold virus)
3) If not & rate for novel corona virus is higher, would that indicate a possible artificial origin?
I'm not a geneticist but from what I know, both Influenza and SARS COV2 viruses are RNA viruses which possess a single strand of RNA coding, in COV2's case, around 10 genes producing 30 proteins. These viruses mutate less than DNA viruses since there is less to go wrong during replication. I don't think there is anything at the moment to suggest that COV2 is mutating faster than expected- the most concerning mutation which has been found in several variants is EEK

The primary reason to suspect a lab origin for CoviD, for me personally, is to do with China's refusal to cooperate with the probe or allow full access to the Wuhan lab, the sudden emergence of the virus in a highly contagious human transmissible form so close to the lab and the failure yet to conclusively identify an intermediary host that would validate the bat to human hypothesis.

de centralised approach can only work in theory, not on ground. Not all officers are of same caliber. most are reactive, few are proactive.

Now that problem has been identified, let’s hope something beneficial comes out of this crisis.

Sir,

Unless we stop calling our selves as civilized and educated and rather act like really a civilized citizen, no amount of strategic reserve or banking can help us!!!
1. We wont wear mask, sighting it makes tough breathing wearing it, even if we wear it will shine as a necklace rather being and working as a mask!!
2. Round o clock we hear and preach others 2 GAZZ ki duri but when it comes to self, whether it is local sweet shop or be it super market or bank, we like to hop on others's head at 2 inch distance!!! Thats too without mask. ( paan shop/ daru ka dukan / tea shop/ red- white areas / beer party/bar/pub- excluded for reducing brain damage further!!)
3. Marriage party- no problem.... here comes 100 party strong baratiii!!! while on reception we proudly flaunt that 800 ppl came to bless the BROOM ( short from.. BRide+grOOM)
4. Do not even dare to bring the public transport/ Political rally situation atm, it gives nightmare to even imagine!!!
5. ICU with all necessary covid support in some city private hospitals now 18500 / 25000 per day ( ohh- to add- AC free), I fear same or almost same situation in other cities or state. Does the state government not know it!!! They know, but no action has been taken to curb such pandemic looting. ( my school friend died last month due to china virus at 36, who himself was a renowned gynecologist, --- the source ) City hospitals are over burdened already and crossed the threshold point for new patient in most cities under crisis. ( valid point of restructuring the health care system can be drawn though ... though after pandemic ofc)

If we manage to make some, suppose 2 or 3 years medical equipment / item storage in advance, would it help us during such emergency like pandemic,------- I fear the answer is NO for medium or long term, may be for repealing the first blow and giving us some extra time to ready self for next blowS. If ppl and reckless and such Idotes and keep proudly being such that they will defy any logic and get repeatedly infected thus making the stain mutation stronger and more resilient to newer drugs, how far our reserve gona save us!!! After all, all tags come with ' BEST BEFORE 6 months'.

Sorry for such long essay. Advance apology.:frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty:

Jo halat hai, dekh ke bada darr lagne laga hai.
Don't worry, worrying is not going to help. Follow Covid protocols i.e use N95 mask, regularly sanitize\wash hands and maintain social distancing and go out only when necessary and if you have go out to get groceries, etc then go around 1 or 2 PM as during that time there aren't many people out and about. Also if you live in an apartment complex and have Covid cases, then don't use lifts if possible.

Also, consult a doctor and get the required medicines and keep them and if possible get an pulse oximeter, a thermometer and steam inhaler and learn a few breathing exercises that you can do if you get exposed to the virus.

In my family 5 people till now have been infected with this, including my father, but they are doing okay, by taking the recommended medicines and by taking steam and doing breathing exercises. My father's O2 level dropped to 88 one point a few days a go, but by regularly taking steam and doing breathing exercises its back to normal around 97 to 99.

Also take plenty of fluids, like juices, coconut water, etc.

Drivel is based on hindsight bitching when every so called freelancer epidemiologist in India was not able to predict the timing and gravity of the second wave.

Heck no nation was able to predict second wave with all their scientific models and so called AI softwares in place. The most successful countries have been those who did target or comprehensive lock downs and then placed strict quarantine on all entry points.

Can you do the same in India? Ghanta, Just read through horror stories how Officers, nurses and doctors were chased by violent mobs of Jahil Abduls. Same way other communities went about business as usual and how state governments criminally stopped worrying about set protocols and became negligent to their duty of care. For just 5000 or little more rupees corrupt thugs presided by Shiv Sena and NCP let people go home who were suppose to stay in quarantine facilities. Same was probaly done on other ports. The Horror stories are endless.

Coming back to that popular Librandu rant of giving vaccination to foreign countries which I have already answered. The stability of vaccination was not ascertained when it started rolling out. The cautiousness was clinically required to go slow. Even people are today finding side effects of Pfizer causing myocarditis in small percentage of population.

Scientifically and statistically jabbing whole population was not feasible, it is still not feasible that is why you have to wait few more days even after preponing of the schedule. The production was perfectly tuned with inoculation schedule scientifically, clinically and amicably drafted by the experts privy to available data.

We were self sufficient even after giving it to friendly countries, on top of that we secured orders from countries who may have gone to China or to buy very costly Pfizer. This is how you turn misery into bliss.

Only point I can agree with you and I have never written anything on this issue with USA. I am not sure how this became an issue. Probably after the tweet of Poonawala and that we do not know for which vaccination‘s API he was concerned.

The government probably is not speaking because BJP ecosystem made USA the fall guy and a distraction. And with all the frenzy around they will use it to buy more time which in any case we need to bring down the curve as the virus will naturally go through its own course and more population will be inoculated in the mean time.
What's most of this got to do with anything I said?..

This is not hondsight drivel by the way. Months ago the gobar decision to sell & donate vaccines was being contested by the medical community (especially when US, UK hadn't exported a single vial yet). The cow-calves may not know, but we have been hearing these complaints & bitching for months... Not making it up. You can ask, if you know any med professional.

My father's O2 level dropped to 88 one point a few days a go, but by regularly taking steam and doing breathing exercises its back to normal around 97 to 99.

Also take plenty of fluids, like juices, coconut water, etc.
Dude, NEVER do that!.. Steam is just water vapour. It does nothing if there's inflation in lungs, except filling the lung alveoli with more water droplets. Steam helps keeping the airtract moist, but only when things are normal.

Get a pulse-oxymeter. Costs only few thousands... If suspected, check blood-oxygen level every few hours for atleast a week. It can drop suddenly & keep dropping. Most people are dying like that. In such case, stay on high alert & be ready to rush patient to hospital.
