UK lost some 70k in the third wave from Jan-Mar. Each successive wave is more dameging, likely due to the virus evolving to fight against the defense it encountered earlier.

There's an article in Scientific American about a case in UK of a man who was hospitalized for over hundred days before he finally sucummed.

They tried everything thing with him including plasma therapy. The interesting thing the doctors noticed was that the virus evolved when faced with plasma from a patient who had recovered.

It's genetic code changed and it figures out how to fight the cells that had defeated it in the other body.

This virus was designed to evolve and haunt humanity for years.

Modi takes credit for containing the first wave ( rightly so), he should be ready to weather the blame for the second wave from a hostile international media ( Although GOI is only partly responsible, for letting down its guard, most of the responsibility lies with the people who are essentially tone deaf when it comes to taking precautions)..
What matters ultimately, is who the voters in India will blame for the loss of lives, and they dont watch CNN, BBC.. Modi can still salvage the situation by helping ramp up vaccine production and vaccination..

That's what the author of the article is disputing. She wants to know the role of ICMR NIV in the development of the vaccine. Whether ICMR is the IP owner or co-owner.
Her line of thought is public money has been invested in developing the product ( via ICMR), it's the G.o.I which should have a say on the pricing of the product.

While I am not disputing her question about IP rights, I am questioning her line of thought that being the IP owner ( if at all) provides the right to fix the price of the product.

Well instead of this propaganda, she is better served via RTI. A simple RTI will reveal role of ICMR in development. Even if ICMR owns IPR, they have zero day in Pricing. Thats some thing manufacturer have to decide based on input cost....

Chinese are dual faced snakes india imports majority of the medical equipments from China.
I talked to a Chinese guy to import Oxygen concentrator previously they used to come for 20-25k now they have increased the price substantially now they are asking for 45k-50k.

Ofcourse we are importing by payment . 10-12 days from now things ll worse . Right now even payed delivery is help . Even 10k oxygen concentrator is less as one concentrator can serve one patient who is not too much critical . Critical ones ll need cylinder .

The reinfection rate of vaccinated Corona patent is not even 0.1
There is another factor vaccination may reduce viral load of the carrier such that it isn't enough to reinfect more people.
Last but not the least the gov should enforce mask, sanitisation and home isolation.
