Who owns the IP? Although owning of IP is something different from the right to fix the price. Even the right to commercially name the product.

Although IP is with Oxford/ AstraZeneca but the price fixation for Indian market is with SII. Similarly the commercial name of the product is given by SII and not Oxford and AstraZeneca.

What the author of the above article asks if we can provide a similitude between Covaxin and Covishield and explain is that who between the University of Oxford and AstraZeneca is the owner of the IP of the vaccine.

Although it might be a pertinent question, it probably has no bearing on the pricing, which is the motive/ premise of the above article.

Saw an interview with bharat biotech head where he claims that he didnt receive a single rupee from gov.

frankly dont see why IP need to be shared with anyone.

SII got 300$ million from bill gates foundation with no strings attached.

our retarded gov didnt think it was important to fund BB until it was too late.

Saw the latest video by the Jaipur dialouges Sanjay Dixit. He revealed a lot of things.
On 10 April Modi goverment also wrote a letter directing all the states to get the O2 levels amped up.

That's what the author of the article is disputing. She wants to know the role of ICMR NIV in the development of the vaccine. Whether ICMR is the IP owner or co-owner.
Her line of thought is public money has been invested in developing the product ( via ICMR), it's the G.o.I which should have a say on the pricing of the product.

While I am not disputing her question about IP rights, I am questioning her line of thought that being the IP owner ( if at all) provides the right to fix the price of the product.

Two different things. University of Oxford directly or UK govt. in proxy via University of Oxford didn't pay AstraZeneca to become co-owner of that vaccine.
They ( University of Oxford) developed it with help from AstraZeneca.

Similarly the work share agreement between ICMR and BB would give the final call on who is the owner of IP of the vaccine.

G.o.I funding to BB is a separate issue.

Some circumstantial evidence is provided by the author of the article but it is no where compelling or proof beyond doubt.

I am not praising or criticizing Mr Kejriwal. He is not my chief minister and his area of responsibility lies within the territory of Delhi.

But what about the other gentleman, Mr He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, His area of responsibility lies from Kashmir to kanyakumari.

BJP spent 700 crore they are contesting all across the country and they are on power in many of the states and have significant amounts of seat in which they have lost as well.

AAP spent 350 crore in the same year and their presence is in just 2 states.

In this 3 months alone they have spent 150 crore at this rate they will spend 600 million this year.

And supplied solutions right from ingenious production of procreative gears like PPE & N95 masks & supplying Chloroquine in early days to whole world, And Developing Vaccine - Covaxin by Bharat Biotech and Serum been largest vaccine manufacturing factory in the world, producing cheapest vaccine in the world.

Which seriously damaged capacity of the Goras by seriously denting $$ printing capacity of their Pharma Industries, hence pain in the ass.

India has done all the above without any support from outside world.

India has triggered many pain points of the Goras at the same time.

This pain in the ass of Goras will continue, due to emerging India.

So be it, I am loving this pain in the ass of the Goras.

Morons and Meltdowns

There is no prevention other than mask and Isolation.

There is no treatment other than luck and vaccination.

There are no capabilities which can handle such virus once population start getting infected because we can not do masks and lockdowns.

Stop blaming this and that. Go through it with hope and grace.

At the very start of this thread my opening line was that I am very worried about India. This virus will take its toll. Prayers and Positivity will help better than Panic and Pessimism.
