So? 3L people with flu. So?
@spikey360 this is the second time you are forcing me to go against my self-imposed temp ban from this forum. Why are you spreading falsehoods regarding this virus? First it was "masks are not important 'cause they don't protect you", now it is "its just the flu bro"!?Very normal brother, any idea how many crores are under the flu every day in a normal year?
Covid kill rates are same as flu in India.
How about you shut up and read for once about this virus and use your damn head for once, like you have been advising other people to? Sorry for my language but the first time I gave you the benefit of the doubt, but the second time again you are spreading falsehoods!
Tell me, is flu a respiratory disorder or otherwise?
What about Covid?
Covid is a blood clotting disorder, not a respiratory disorder. It enters our endothelial cells (that line the walls of our blood vessels) through the ACE 2 receptor and release the von Willebrand factor (something that is only supposed to happen in case of endothelial cell injury). von Willebrand factor can trigger blood clotting even in the absence of endothelial cell damage . Hence why we are witnessing Covid patients with thrombosis and embolisms.
Covid is causing organ damage at a MUCH HIGHER RATE than a flu. So now wonder if that is how high the death rate is, how high is the rate of permanent organ damage is. Add to that the people who end up contracting long Covid.
Your logic goes out the window the minute you realize that if every season we have so many flu patients, why is it that Covid is overwhelming our hospitals with people that need ventilators, oxygen, etc. If its "just the flu", why is this happening?
The "death rate is low" B.S. will come crashing down if, god forbids, the hospital system collapses. Go look at data for other countries. The death rate shoots up the minute hospital infra gets overwhelmed. tl;dr people will DIE without medical attention. So you are comparing death rate of flu without majority hopitalization with the death rate of Covid with hospital support. Remove the hospital support and you'll see ho high the covid death rate climbs.
Moreover, this virus, like all viruses, will continue to mutate the more it spreads. So statistically the chances of a mutant making vaccines ineffective grow stronger every time another person gets infected. Chances of re-infection also rise every time this happens.
So stop thinking that its "just the flu".
