Now that the approval of the vaccine is in, some points:

The restricted approval (for SII/AZ) simply means that Serum Institute can neither sell to the private market nor can they export. Just saw an interview where Poonawalla said that he expects the vaccine to be supplied in the next week/10 days. Production will depend on government ability to lift the supply manufactured. Planned production is 50M per month. When the government eases restrictions, production will likely double.

Price to the government is ₹200 per shot. Price when available privately, probably in a couple of months, is about ₹1000 per shot. So ₹400 per person for the government and ₹2000 for a private individual.

Recommended gap by SII, for 90% efficacy is 2.5 months between shots.

Looks like every one wants Pfuckzier vaccine to be supplied so that they make more money and give these dalals their share of money as modi has drained their taps for long time .

Also its stupid of govt to give vaccine free . People who can afford to pay should pay for their vaccines , Bloody a movie ticket and popcorn cost 1000rs for weekend 3 hour show . A couple of beer bottles cost 300-500 rupees , Can't people afford one time 1000 Rs for vaccine which can save their lives ???

I am not lining up for vaccine right now will wait and take it when its available out the counter from private clinic or will join the group of people who want herd immunity is achieved by others

As of now the Covaxin is not open for public , The first lot is going to given to health care professionals and support staffs who are fighting covid pandemic . By saying they will be monitoring people who are taking covaxin i think they are just trying to get back up for SII Oxford vaccine .

Covaxin is purely our own with no collaboration with any foreign pharma company not like Oxford Astrazeneca Vaccine which SII has only production rights not research or clinical trail data.
