do we have any data on reinfections post recovery..... I know of a b,lore lady who caught the bat virus again after recovering .... researchers have also ruled out herd immunity...if i remember correctly...
it is well published that the effectiveness of antibodies after covid infection lasts only upto 4-6 months. Chances of re-infection after that window is very high. Thats why muricans have annual flu shot to revv up the antibody count and keep viruses out.

All variants of coronaviruses provide a safe revenue stream to Big Pharma.

There is a likelyhood that the virus will eventually mutate into something else. However there is also a good probability that with sufficient vaccination before it mutates into something worse, the virus can be eliminated from the human population (so that it doesn't get a chance to mutate into a much worse virus). We have a small window of opportunity here to eliminate this virus from human population. I hope big pharma doesn't blow this chance because of greed, and provides the vaccine worldwide at low cost. I pray that there is at least one vaccine maker that is willing to cut down on profits for the greater good of mankind. If this virus is allowed to persist and mutate, it could turn into something much worse that could potentially kill a lot more people.

South Africa vs England 2020 - Tour called off after Covid-19 outbreak (espncricinfo.com)

Meanwhile 9 members of pork cricket team too tested positive,.. names are not clear.. funnily, when they tested in Lahore.. they were negative and were declared positive next day on New zealand....raising questions on efficiency of testing in porkland
No they were not tested negative. 3 of the initial 6 players were already positive before leaving Pak. Their board knowingly allowed them to travel on seeing no symptoms.

Positive indicators of overall containment in the country. Still by no means it is close to over though.

As daily Covid-19 cases in the country continue to fall after peaking nearly three months ago, India is among only two nations among the 10 worst-affected by the pandemic that are yet to be hit by a second wave of infections.

Eight of these countries have either seen or are in the midst of a second or third wave of the pandemic. The only other country among the 10 to have suffered just a single Covid wave so far is Argentina.

Two or more waves of the pandemic appear to be the norm in countries with a sizable number of infections. In the worst-hit 15 countries of the world, all with caseloads of nearly one million or more, Poland is the only other country hit by a single big wave thus far.

What is common between India, Argentina and Poland is that in all three countries the first wave of infections peaked relatively late. In India, the peak came in mid-September, in Argentina it was in the third week of October while Poland had its peak in the first week of November.

All other countries had seen Covid cases peaking latest by August. The US, the world's worst-hit country by far, is arguably in the midst of a third wave of infections. Its first peak came in the second week of April and the second in the third week of July. Thereafter, daily cases fell till the second week of September before climbing steeply again.

In all countries (among the worst 15) hit by multiple waves, the second wave has been deadlier than the first. The only exception is Brazil, but it’s still not clear whether or not the second wave in the country is on wane.

In India, daily cases have fallen to almost a third of the levels seen during the peak of the pandemic. But with more than 30,000 daily cases still being reported, the danger of a second wave clearly continues to lurk.

first users of pfizer bat shit vaccine have developed facial paralysis. jesuis fckuin chist.
this whole vaccine thing is a facking farce when the CEO of pfizer himself is wriggling his hands and shrugging when asked if his vaccine is REALLY necessary .

"Earlier, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla had cast doubts if the vaccine will help stop the transmission of the infection. "

LOL

The problem is with these white people also. they have no kind of resistance to anything. They get medicine for any kind of cough and cold and are totally dependent on medication for every issue.
I personally have more trust on Oxford vaccine. They are not that much into making money compared to Pfizer and other American companies.

^ issue is with age and physical condition of the first recipients. imagine giving a new vaccine to a 90 year old dilapidated wreck of a human being who is about to die anyway of natural wear and tear related complications!!! do they even have the ability to aborb the shocks of what is at best an experimental drug?

That's a good point too. But in UK, the first dose was given to 90 yr old lady. lets see the results. It will take 10-15 days to develop the immunity for covid from these vaccines.

In US the death no is very high because the Democrat Cities counted any death who tested positive. Whether the person actually dies from covid related complications or not. There were few people who tested positive but dies in road accidents included in the official Covid death lists.

Not without India: World's pharmacy gears up for vaccine race

India manufactures more than 60% of all vaccines sold across the globe, and while its $40 billion pharmaceutical sector is not yet involved in the production of the expensive Pfizer Inc and Moderna shots, the nation will play a pivotal role in immunizing much of the world.

I think its best to delay taking vaccine until its side-effects are known completely. I am not from medical field but it seems like rushed products (talking about all vaccines not any particular one) and don't feel much comfortable about taking it even if its available by mid 2021.

If there are any medical specialist, what are there views on it?

Vaccines used to take years to be tested, certified and be made generally available. Now its the age of instant gratification, so voila you have a -70 deg C super frozen silver bullet vaccine in a few months.

I know what i would do if someone comes anywhere close to me or my near ones with a bat shit vaccine.

We have much better understanding of the virus and all since the completion of human genome projects. We are better in working on RNA, DNA based vaccines now. The computational power has increased exponentially since the last mass scale vaccine was developed.
Also, this is coronavirus family virus which is already studied in depth since last SARS outbreak in early 2000s.

would that alone be sufficient to replace old fashioned testing for extended periods of time to study safety and potential long term side effects.
drug and vaccine development are intentionally handled differently. drugs can have side effects. infact most of them have in mild levels. but in vaccines, side effects are a strict no-no (recorded facial paralysis, memory loss, etc are recent documented ones). only good old unfashionable TIME reveals these over minute observation of long term closed circle sample based tests.

drugs are given to sick ppl, vaccines are given to healthy ones. protocols are specifically different.
