I've been using gur (jaggery) from several years, in my coffee cup or any kind of beverage which requires sweetening. I avoid any type of soft-drink unless its very hot day. As of what I know, the Microwave radiation produced in kitchen is very small. In fact I did a python programming lessen of MIT course, which suggested that there are house hold items that have a radio active half life of x-amount (can't recall) which we daily consume every day, but that's too small.
So if you are boiling water, as long as you are not re-heating it again you are good. Right?
Not surprising what you learnt in MIT courseware. NIH is against any study co-relating microwave and chronic conditions.
I am not going to give a yes/no answer. Also, many times in India, unless it comes from a westerner, people tend not to believe. So, here are some excerpts from what Dr. Max Chartrand wrote on a researchforum:
"Our clinical observation over the past 20 years or more, looking at health changes when patients stop microwaving is that we see dramatic reductions in acidosis and metabolic-related diseases. Diabetes moderates, high blood pressure moderates without medication, cases of acid reflux were reduced by more than 90%. In my recent research for a book on the Interstitium and Essential Oils I noted that essential oils in plant based foods burned instantly when placed in a microwave. Convection cooking, when carried out with burning the food does not seem to lose the volatile essential oil biochemistry like microwaving. So, I say to any patient who comes onto one of our research project that if they truly want to overcome a given chronic condition, a prerequisite is to not microwave their food, not even for warming. The absence of evidence is NOT evidence that a given hypothesis is not correct. In fact, the very definition of ignorance is condemnation before investigation. Of the studies that claim to show microwaving is safe, I've not seen one yet that would pass muster in my doctoral research classes"
“A similar analogy might be rendered on the demonstrable health outcomes between eating non-GMO organic fruits and vegetables and dairy, etc. and eating a diet straight from the freezer into the microwave: the differences in health outcomes over years and decades in one's physical health are stunning. That is the reason I cannot accept the studies that claim superiority in microwaving food from a nutrition standpoint. Because that which is considered measured nutrition is to me, and many other knowledgeable researchers, a barbaric, over-simplified construct that tells us nothing about microwaving's effect on organic nutrients. And, my dear friends and colleagues, organic food is where health is.”
“As we survey oncology programs in the US, we find two that advise against micrwaving of food as a necessary protocol of their treatment program: MD Anderson and Cancer Centers of America”.
(By the way, MD Anderson is a leading cancer institute in the US)
“My wife, a noted Occupational Therapist, had already started her SIRCLE Method (Stress Induced or Related Lifestyle Education) program and added these changes to her rehabilitative program for hundreds of patients. With this addition to her program she found a marked increase in all areas of health and chronic disease. So, by the early 2000s advising patients to not microwave their food, proved to be the linchpin to producing remarkable results. By 2010 we began formally tracking the metabolic changes in Case Studies among our patients and determined that when they followed a strict cessation of microwaved food that all biomarkers improved and they were able to overcome or improve outcomes of virtually any chronic condition. Cancer patients improved, neuropathy, arthtritis, and digestive disorders (acid reflux, particularly) improved, and efforts to overcome hidden interstital infections and parasites became more manageable”.
